Publisher's summary

“I don't belong in the military. I don't want to belong.”

Tanner Malone never aspired to heroism. For him, the Navy and the Debtor’s War were all about survival. Lately, his life has turned to better days with college, friends, and a growing relationship. He’s not interested when a Union Fleet admiral brings him a mysterious alien threat, but he can’t turn away Alicia Wong.

Ancient warfare between humanity’s alien neighbors threatens to reignite. While tensions rise, the Fleet detects a massive alien craft sneaking through human space. The commando team sent to investigate is tough, competent, and straight out of Tanner’s worst fears. Surviving this will push Tanner to his limits—and he’ll definitely need a note for class.

Another good book by elliot k

So I have not totally compiled all of my thoughts on this one. What I do think about it is it's a good book. I have listened to all of the other ones. And the storyline continues. The up approach that's taken to this one. In a pretty good space. Opera genre takes into account a different mindset.
It really shows the difference ways. People do things it's just not your normal. Shoot him up, fly across the stars. Meet this funky thing. Kill it, friend it or screw it. Type of book.
I don't know. There's just something about it. That really clicks with me and my recommendation. Is there anyone that says OK? Ay maybe to give it a shot. Oh, side note the voice acting of the narrator and the whispering low tones part.
It doesn't add to it, but it does make you kinda wonder what he's trying to do. He's got a good voice But not every actor needs a niche. Sometimes your voice just is.

An Excellent Edition to this Series

I very much looked forwards to listening to this Audiobook and I wasn't disappointed. In my opinion the Author does an excellent job of keeping his audience engaged and eager for more.

The only issue I had with it was that the Narrator (T.A.P) decided to whisper the majority of the Audiobook. While not outright bad it was a bit irritating. Still, dispite this oddity I enjoyed this Audiobook as much as the earlier books.

I love this series

There's a bit of a dip in the action about 2/3 through, but it all pays off at the climax.

I'll listen to this entire series again next year. I didn't have time to go through it all before No Man's Land dropped.

good story, wierd narration

not in love with the sleepy narration this round, good story and interesting though so that saves it. I love how this series introduces a decent amount of new concepts in each book to keep it interesting.

Great story, not so great narration

I was really pleased that Elliot Kay had written another in this terrific series - I’ve enjoyed all of them and this a great addition. As it’s been six years since the last book, I listened to the 5th of the series again to remind me of what had happened. Both were read by Tim Chabon but for some strange reason, the non-character narrative in the 6th book was read by Tim in a whisper which was a tad annoying - I sometimes had to strain to hear/understand what was said because of the sibilance it created. I’m hoping that a 7th book will be out soon, read by Tim, but without the whispering.

Love the story, but why the narration change?

Great story. The whispering narration between the dialog of voices almost made me stop listening...ALMOST!

Why is he Whispering?!

I love this series! and this story was great. But the near monotone whispering on the part of the narrator when not speaking in character voice was seriously aggravating. Please go back to normal tone of voice for narration!

Great story

Been looking forward to the next story and this didn’t disappoint. I enjoyed the development of these characters. Not sure why Tim Pabon decided to whisper the non-dialogue bits. He’s usually a good narrator, with distinct characters voices and great performances. Looking forward to the next book.
