Publisher's summary

An actor researching a role. A cupcake shop owner with a broken heart. Can he convince her she’s more than a stand-in heroine?

Cassidy Erickson refuses to obsess over the fame-chasing ex-fiancé who left her at the altar. Instead, she’s focused on making her new cupcake shop a success. Then the unthinkable happens. Jase Larson - A-list actor and co-star of her heartless ex - shows up at the family ranch to research an upcoming role.

Jase’s career is taking off, but years of chasing the perfect role hasn’t filled the emptiness in his heart. When he visits Sunset Plains to prepare for a cowboy film, it feels like the place he was always meant to be - especially when he meets Cassidy, the stunning cupcake shop owner who can’t seem to stand him. Too bad it’s all temporary and he’s returning to Hollywood in a month.

When a freak lighting storm fries the appliances at Cassidy’s cupcake shop, Jase becomes her unexpected hero. But Cassidy can’t shake the fear that she’s just a fill-in heroine. Can Jase convince her that he’s really a country boy at heart before he loses her forever?

Cupcakes

This is a cute book. Cassidy had been hurt in her past and has to learn how to move past it or she may just lose the best guy she meet Jase. Love the story! Great job.

Out with one actor, in with another one

Jase and Cassidy are far from a couple I would ever think would work out. Cassidy is a hard working woman, who owns her own business. She is well grounded and knows what she wants. Jase is an actor who likes to study his roles to seem more realistic when acting a part. He is a well rounded actor who has his mom as his manager. This brings a different twist to the story. I enjoyed the distrust Cassidy had for Jase at first. It gave depth to the romance and sucked me into the drama. Jase had his work cut out for him to prove to Cassidy he was more than his job. Will Jase give it all up for her, or will he succumb to his mother's wishes? This is one story you do not want to miss.

Tiffany Williams has become as much a friend as the characters are to me. I cannot imagine anyone else narrating this series as well as Ms. Williams. It is always like returning to a familiar place when I start a book narrated by her. Ms. Williams creates a movie in my mind as she brings the story to life.

A sweet story

Cassidy put her dreams on hold to support her fiancé, in his quest to become an actor and all she got in return was a broken heart and a mountain of debt. Now she's finally realized her dream--opening her own bakery, Cupcakes and Cowboys, and she's doing her best to make it a success. Unfortunately she hasn't been as successful getting over her ex-fiancé, Seth Harrington, who left her at the altar a year ago. He left her behind when he went to Hollywood to fulfill his dream of being an actor, and she hasn't heard from him since.

Jase Larson is a successful actor who's come to Sunset Plains for 4 months to prepare for his next movie role. He's a method actor so he wants to learn all he can about ranching before they start filming. At least that's what he tells himself, but truthfully, he's thinking of leaving acting behind. It's not that exciting for him anymore. According to interviews Seth Harrington has given, he and Jase are best friends which means Cassidy wants nothing to do with him. Can Jase prove to Cassidy that she can't believe everything she hears and that not all actors are scum?

To say Jase and Cassidy have a rough start is an understatement--her parents didn't tell her he was going to be staying/working at the ranch for the next few months. She wants nothing to do with him, mostly because she believes he and Seth are best buds, but they aren't. Unlike Seth, Jase is honest, what you see is what you get. He's a really good guy and keeps surprising her by his actions. Their blossoming romance is almost derailed when Seth suddenly shows up to bring Jase back to Hollywood to start working on the movie. Does Jase still want to be an actor or has he found that ranching and Cassidy have brought meaning back to his life?

I enjoyed the story but thought Cassidy was a little too rough on Jase without finding anything out about him and believing everything Seth said in interviews. She should have known not to trust anything that Seth said. I really liked Jase especially when he helped out Cassidy in her bakery the morning after the power went out, and helped her get a good deal on the new refrigerator and freezer. This is a sweet, clean romance.

The narrator Tiffany Williams does a great job with this series. I can feel the character's emotions with her narration.

No Wedding Cakes!

I originally read this, before it was revised for the MATCH series, as "Cupcakes and Cowboys," but other than a few seamlessly interwoven tie-ins to the core story it appears to remain basically unchanged and as delightful as before. This bright and breezy romance strikes all the right chords: good guys, bad guys, a feisty heroine and a fabulous setting, well written and charming. Of course, I grew up with cowboys in the movies and on TV so my nostalgia bone was on high alert but Ms. Armstrong gets the details right as past tragedy is overcome and true love wins out. (No spoilers--we know this MUST occur because it is an HEA [Happily Ever After]!)

UPDATE--re"read" AUDIO version:

Listening to this immediately after hearing Book 8, I really enjoyed the segue of Jase, a side-character from the cruise, into the lead. And, surprise! The heroine is none other than the sister of the cruise VIP coordinator! Didn't get a chance to enjoy "Match Me by Christmas" yet? No worries--this story stands completely on its own. I should point out that narrator Tiffany Williams, a favorite among voice artists, does her usual superb job, adding Oklahoma drawl to a captivating story.

Sweet and Clean!

This is the book 9 in the No Match for Love Series. The story is sweet, fun, and clean. Cassidy, a cupcake shop owner, and Jase, an actor, are both great and likable characters. I love the HEA. Tiffany Williams did an amazing job with the narration. I enjoyed listening to this audiobook.

What’s Jase Going.To Do

Cassidy’s dream was for her fiancé to establish himself as an actor. A hard lesson and bills when he left. She now has her bakery and making delicious cupcakes. When another actor comes to town to learn about the role he is to play. In the next movie. Which she wants nothing to do with him, once burned. What does Jase have to do to even get a chance to tell her what he is thinking of doing. Cute story as all of the authors are. Good Narration was given Arc Audio for my voluntary review and my honest opinion

Excellent Series

I received this audiobook free for an honest review. I have listened to most of Lindzee Armstrong's stories and none have disappointed me. This one was awesome and different from the others showing Lindzee has an amazing talent for writing. The story, although short, was complete, The characters were well developed. The narrator, Tiffany Williams did an excellent job of creating the individual characters. I felt like I knew each of the characters. I really enjoyed this book. Always look forward to Armstrong/Williams audio books.

MY TAKE
Another winner by Armstrong. I read and loved the story of Cassidy's brother Tanner and was curious about the references to her and Jase. My heart broke for her. I've known too many women in her position who supported their boyfriends or husbands in pursuit of their career goals only to be cast aside when they achieved them. Jase is such a great guy and a perfect fit for her.

Tiffany Williams did a fabulous job on the narration, as always.
