A Lighthearted and Fun Read

I requested and received this free copy in exchange for my voluntary review. I have found the story to be quite enjoyable and aptly enhanced by the terrific narration provided by Dave Bosch. The story was a surprising diversion from my usual dramatic selections.

Great story with versitile characters

Would you listen to Nesting with the Loons again? Why?

Yes. The characters were entertaining, the narrator did a fantastic job delivering the story and the audio itself had multiple thread plots.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Jack Snaggler, the main character who was the catalyst for such personalities and who encompassed the American dream. He was closely followed by Bob Wetterman, a quirky sidekick and others such as Ed Shoemaker, a man determined to run away from the family he loved to a place they'd never find him.

Which character – as performed by David Bosco – was your favorite?

Bosco performed all characters well, but Jack and Wetterman were my favorites.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

The only thing crazy is being sane !

I'll be looking for more audios from both Davis and Bosco in the future. An excellent entertaining listen.

Great narration

While there were several comical moments, I never really got into this book. I'm not sure if it was because it wasn't holding my attention, but I had a hard time following the book and had to restart several chapters. David Bosco's narration was excellent and the only reason I finished the book. I will definitely look for more books narrated by Mr. Bosco.

The Office meets Clue...sort of

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

I will start by saying that I really enjoyed David Bosco's narration. The sound effects were a nice touch too. Definitely gives it that retro radio show feel. The story line was an almost manic and, yes, chuckle-inducing romp. Definitely a satire of Middle America living. It reminded me of a mix of the Office and Clue.

Rediscovered

I first found this story a couple years ago. Found it entertaining and very original. Replaying the audiobook reminded me of just how much fun this story was and how engaging a listen it can be. Some characters are exaggerated but that adds to the absurdity and the fun. Guaranteed to make any car trip seem a little shorter!

Listening to Nesting with the Loons was a fun and enjoyable experience for my husband and I. The characters were hilarious and the story had a nice flow to it. There were quite a few laugh out loud parts and let's face it...everyone could use a loony break from reality now and then. Kudos to author Jeff Davis and narrator David Bosco for an entertaining listen.

Somewhat retro and somewhat humorous

My experience listening to Nesting with the Loons produced mixed results. A satirical comedy about the modern workplace which has some entertainment value though I would not anticipate it being on any best seller list. The characters were a strange mix that added to the direction of the overall plot. There were humorous moments prompting an audible chuckle but most of the intended humor was just so-so resulting in a hint of a smile as I read on.

The narration had its own strong flavor that I came to appreciate as I progressed through the story. There were sound effects that really made me feel like I was listening to an old time radio program. It was that level of effort that was put into the narrative that also produced some confusing times with its vintage sounds and then throwing in cell phones.

Reads like a noir a

Read by the author who does a really good job (not always the case) who of course captures the feel of the story.
Fun listen good story well performed

thoroughly enjoyed.

started a little slow but i was driving and the narrator kept me captive. Ended up with a couple of unlikely hero's and a great ending.
