Publisher's summary

What began as a simple tailing of Roger Price became the worst week of Maizie Albright's life....

#StillDetectiveing As an ex-star of a hit teen detective show, Maizie Albright gets the youth demographic. Or so she thought. Now that she’s adulting, today’s kids make Maizie feel out of date. At least the teen YouTube stars of Bigfoot Trackers want to hire her to look into the disappearance and possible murder of their producer. A murder the police find as likely as Bigfoot.

Maizie has her own suspicions about the new celebrity retreat where their missing person was last seen, particularly when she learns her ex-fiancé has been hired to run the center. Kind of an issue when she thought Oliver was in prison. Kind of an issue when Nash, the man of her dreams, is out of commission.

Wait, not man of her dreams.

Boss of her fantasies. Professionally speaking, of course.

While Maizie’s looking for a missing YouTube star, she’s wrangling her mother’s wedding, assuaging an overzealous probation officer, and struggling to keep Nash Security Solutions solvent. Conspiracy theories collide with real-life catastrophes, beginning with murder and possibly ending with Maizie’s life.

Entertaining

was intrigued as I followed the clues along with Maizie Albright as she continues to follow her dream of being a private investigator. Maizie used to be the star of a hit teen detective show, now it’s her reality.

When the stars of a YouTube channel ask Maizie to investigate the disappearance of their producer, she jumps at the chance. Finding out that her ex-fiance Oliver, is running the place where the producer was last seen and that her boss Wyatt Nash is unable to assist her, she finds herself in a tough spot.

The narrator really brought this book to life for me and did a good job keeping me entertained. The characters are easy to relate too, likeable and NC-17 was a a book filled with a intrigue, mystery and suspense which kept me invested throughout as I listened to Joan Dukore’s performance.

Fun & funny cozy mystery with a little romance!

I really enjoyed NC-17 A Maizie Albright book! If you are looking for a funny cozy, this book is great and the series gets better with each book! Maizie is training to be a PI and her boss is Wyatt Nash. Nash Security is having financial problems. Nash and Maizie are at the bank when something goes wrong. A YouTube star goes missing and there are odd things going on at the Wellness Center. It isn’t hard to guess who some of the culprits are but there is more going on than you will guess. I really like the characters- Maizie. Nash, Rhonda & Tiffany. This book and series are a lot of fun. I haven’t laughed this much in awhile! Very enjoyable!

Shizzles! How Does She Get in these Situations!

My girl, Maizie, is back and she gets herself in the thick of things again. I mean, what in the hellsbah! When I picture Maizie in my mind she is Reese Witherspoon's character in the Legally Blonde series. Even though she worked in a cut-throat industry, she has a naivity and sweetness about her that is endearing. Add sexy, bad boy, Wyatt Nash to the mix, and you get chemistry off the charts!

Nash is in a coma for most of the book after trying to intercept a bank robbery and a bomb goes off. Spunky little Maizie takes control and tries to solve the mystery of a missing YouTube star while trying to figure out what in the shizzle is going on at Wellspring Spa where Oliver is now employed....yes, the ex-fiance who is responsible for her being on probation! Craptastic. All this and trying to solve the mystery of what is going on with the bank robber and his mother.

Just one hilarious scene. Maizie gets in a tiff with her cosmetologist girlfriends and ends up coloring her own hair. She is trying to explain to Oliver why she looks like a pumpkin. "I did my own hair with something called Color'n ShineMo. Bought it from a store called SaveMo." Her voice cracks with a sob. "It's so cheap it doesn't have all the letters in the name."

The audio version is wonderful because Joan does a great rendition of Maizie and really brings out her personality. Hearing her talk in Maizie's voice in her Downton Abbey accent when she feels herself going off the rails is pretty amusing.

Overall, loved it, and cannot wait for 18 Caliber to be released on audio. These are such a treat!
