Publisher's summary

Number one New York Times best seller.

The blockbuster Jack Reacher series that inspired two major motion pictures and the upcoming streaming series Reacher.

There’s deadly trouble in the corn country of Nebraska...and Jack Reacher walks right into it. First he falls foul of the Duncans, a local clan that has terrified an entire county into submission. But it’s the unsolved case of a missing child, already decades old, that Reacher can’t let go.

The Duncans want Reacher gone - and it’s not just past secrets they’re trying to hide. They’re awaiting a secret shipment that’s already late - and they have the kind of customers no one can afford to annoy. For as dangerous as the Duncans are, they’re just the bottom of a criminal food chain stretching halfway around the world.

For Reacher, it would have made much more sense to keep on going, to put some distance between himself and the hard-core trouble that’s bearing down on him. For Reacher, that was also impossible.

Take another thrill ride with Jack Reacher.

Just as expected.

Very good. I like the way his books have multiple story lines running at the same time.

One of the best.

My favorite up until now was the second book. This one is right up there.

Another solid Jack Reacher

The pacing and narrative are classic Reacher and Mr. Hill does his usual stellar job. The storyline development was one of the better ones in my opinion; particularly the way different “threads/lines” converge.

One of the best Reacher novels you'll read!

This story starts off with a bang and keeps rolling onward toward an explosive finish. If you want plenty of action, this is your go-to. Reacher is tough but definitely hurtable, you feel empathy for some characters along the way, and the lineup of villains is more complex and entertaining than in most Reacher novels written before or after this one. As someone who has been reading Reacher novels for the past several months, this is one of the most satisfying. Please, enjoy.

Well done, lots of bad guys for Reacher to beat up

This is one of the better Reacher stories. I had a few laughs from Reacher’s macho talk. The ending was excellent. I don’t want to be redundant, but for newcomers I’ll repeat a few things I’ve said in other reviews. Reacher is like a comic book super hero. You need to suspend disbelief. He has no luggage. He buys new cheap clothes about every three days and throws away his dirty clothes. He lives in motels, eats in cheap diners, and usually travels by bus or hitchhiking. I enjoy hanging out with him even when I give the story a lower rating.

The narrator Dick Hill was very good.

Worth Dying For

Very intricate plot. Sometimes too much detail. Still, I liked it. Reacher's not in a wheelchair yet. Far from it.

Worth Dying For A Jack Reacher novel

Would you consider the audio edition of Worth Dying For to be better than the print version?

I don't think it's better, but it is what I need because I have a hard time reading print right now. The audio edition was perfect for me.

What other book might you compare Worth Dying For to and why?

I would compare it to the other Jack Reacher books I was able to read. It was excellent.

Which scene was your favorite?

I loved the scene where Jack Reacher got even with the Duncans for the entire community.

Best Yet

I am not listening to the Reacher books in order. I am hopping around, but I do have to say that this is the best Reacher book I have listened to. He comes into the story not really caring, gets involved in what looks like a minor incident, then becomes the scapegoat/focus of a much bigger, and of course, illegal operation. I know most people in the country do not know Reacher exists since he always seems to be working in out of the way remote places. But you would think that some of these bad guys just might want to avoid the crap storm that Reacher ALWAYS brings! Maybe just bite the bullet, swallow their pride, and let Reacher leave. But no. We have to teach the loner a lesson - and in this book Reacher almost gets taught that lesson, but then he pays it back in spades!!

Great story! Great read - I love listening to Dick Hill. He is a fabulous narrator!

This is a book that should be made into the net Reacher movie!!
