One by one, children of New York's wealthiest are taken hostage. But the criminal doesn't crave money or power - he only wants to ask the elite if they know the price others pay for their luxurious lifestyles. And, if they don't, he corrects their ignorance - by killing them.
To Detective Michael Bennett, it becomes clear that these murders are linked and must be part of a greater, more public demonstration. With the city thrown into chaos, he is forced to team up with FBI agent Emily Parker, and the two set out to capture the killer before he begins his most public lesson yet - a deadly message for the entire city to witness.

Reading has always been my guilty pleasure. I would take stacks of books from the library. Now I listen to Audible.
Love Patterson!! The use of multiple voices made this a really great listen. It held my interest all the way through/
Not all titles will be written well and narrated well. But this one such title that is well written and well narrated. I enjoyed listening to this book.
It was good and not a long book so a good buy.
I am and always have been a fan of James Patterson. I enjoy Audiobooks for the mind amusement while the hands are doing the drudgery of household work! Very well written and spoken. This book kept me waiting for each new chapter. Very exciting.
I like mysteries but this one had too many gory details. The story was good and I liked the characters. My only problem besides the gore was thta the narrators did not change their voices for their different characters. Sometimes I coudln't tell if it was Emily, Mary Catherine, or Mike's boss. Confusing.....
