Crack another case with Eve Dallas.

I love this series! Some books more than others, but I could listen to Erikson read a cereal box. She brings the characters to life so well, that I don't even 'read' the series anymore. And man, can I get housework, yard work, and workouts done!
Yes, I love the In Death series. But, I do have one complaint with all of them (so far). I really hate the fact that Eve feels she has to use God's name in vain REPEATEDLY. I really find this word disturbing and wish there was some way it could be removed or beeped out. I believe the story would be just as well written and read without this one foul word used repeatedly.
Rarely am I lost for words but OMG!!! There is no warm blooded human being, friend or foe that I would not allow to share and yet envy the passionate pleasure that is Witness in Death: In Death, Book 10
As a devoted liege I often imagine that this is the apex of Nora's artistic prowess and with every book she proves me a blithering idiot...lol
I wouldn't make this book into a movie for the injustice that would be exacted by the pedestrian directorship of some famous Director.
Its fifty books but don't give up. I guarantee no matter how flabbergasted you are now it will always get better
I enjoy this series. Both her written and audio versions.
The narrator does an excellent transition from characters and emotions are portrayed well.
I originally avoided this series because the author seemed supernaturally prolific to have actually written everything herself. But I finally got sucked in and each book is as good if not better than the last. I love the subtly of the characters, their slow growth, and the quiet humor that abounds in the stories. There are repetitive parts, to be sure, but they are quite easy to overlook. Susan Ericksen's reading is amazing. Although I am not in love with some of her voices for some ongoing (minor) characters, again the tale makes it easy to accept any such irritants. I believe you will be failing yourself to not at least give Eve Dallas a try.
Always after books that read well in the tractor!
The plot for this one was twisty turny, but I love the way it all came together in the end!
No, R/S novels if you enjoy the mystery it's hard to return and get the same thrill from it.
Everything, how the murder took place, the personal dynamics of the characters, the murder victims lack of humanity and how it impacted the serial cast. Plus just enough personal elements of Rourke & Eve to have me committed to this series. J. D. Robb never lets us down with this couple, the complexity of the crimes and how Eve uses her guts and smarts to find the killer. In this novel more personal dynamics have been added with the secondary characters, which just grows the overall dynamic of the cast.
Yes, Prior J.D. Robb "In Death" serial content. I'll be honest, Rourke's voice took some getting use to because I started out by reading the novels and so I had my preconceived notions of what Rourke sounded like. I do think either I've gotten use to it or SE's voice has replaced the one in my head. But, right from the get-go Eve was pitch-perfect.
It was unfortunate that I needed to sleep, because this was a winner. Listened to it in 2 days.
I like these books and I think the narrator does a great and consistent job. I like going into these books knowing there is going to be a murder and Eve will catch the killer with the assistance of Peabody and Rourke, along with her normal cast of characters. The murders are consistently different and I usually can't figure out exactly why until very close to the end. The murder in this particular volume was fascinating because of the many parallels between the actors and the play they were performing at the time of the murder. The victim was reprehensible and I think this is the first time there's been a victim with no redeeming qualities. It's also fun to see the general storylines inch along, albeit at a glacial pace. I'll definitely be listening to the next book.
I enjoy reading but listening to to books let me do cleaning around the house or get away from work at my luch break.I
I thought I had figured out who did it but I was wrong.
I have listened to other JD Robb books by Susan Ericksen she does a very good job.
