This should be your first Clancy book!

This should be your first listen of a Clancy book and should have been the first book made into a movie. Evil meets it's match with John Kelly!

Excellent "Backstory" to such a huge character.

Would you consider the audio edition of Without Remorse to be better than the print version?

Did not read the print. Prichard gives quite a bit of personality to the characters. Especially when he is reading as Kelly.

What other book might you compare Without Remorse to and why?

The Matt Helm series. A very realistic account of a character with a larger than life reputation. Both men are very pragmatic and efficient in a very real environment. Neither of them fall to the typical weaknesses of other "heroes". Therefore, when they are in trouble, you cant dismiss tension.

Have you listened to any of Michael Prichard’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Only reading Tom Clancy Books. He is just as good across the board for narration. Pretty poor on voices because he hardly varies at all.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. There always seemed to be something that needed to be addressed or taken care of. So many questions. So many impending climaxes.

Any additional comments?

This is a very very ugly story of gray. No angels and devils. No black and white. Clancy does a very good job of illustrating consequence and a very unforgiving environment. Certainly one of his more personal tales. A much smaller and intimate picture.

Great story

Would you listen to Without Remorse again? Why?

This was my first foray into the Tom Clancy universe and I was pleased with the overall work.

Which scene was your favorite?

The scene in Vietnam when the mission was go/no go was very gripping.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The reuniting of Doris and her father was emotional.

Great story!

It was a slow start with 5-8 plot lines to develop as the book progressed. Solid Clancy finish that left me sitting on the airplane being the last one to exit because I couldn't stop listening. Great book.

Too bad….

…..the show runners for the tv version never read the book. Other than the Harrison Ford “jack Ryan’s” all other screen adaptations have been garbage

Holds up to the test of time

I was skeptic on this book at first as it’s a few decades old now. Wondering how it would hold up to changing tech and a changing world.

It was a wonderful listen. Clancy was a real pro at this I’m so stoked that a big world of his literature has opened up for me.

Very good

A bit long, but love the back story of John Clark (although likely I just read it out of order and so it seems like a back story)

One of the greatest Clancy books ever!

This is one of my favorite stories. Narration was a little stilted at first, but improved as the book progressed. Fantastic read!!!!!
