Wes Rockville, a disgraced law enforcement agent, is given one last chance to prove himself and save his career when he's reassigned to a 232-year-old secret government organization, The Witches Protection Program. His first assignment: uncover a billion-dollar cosmetics company's diabolical plan of using witchcraft for global domination, while protecting its heiress Morgan Pendragon from her aunt's evil deeds. Reluctantly paired with veteran witch protector, Alastair Verne, Wes must learn to believe in both witches and himself. Filled with adventure, suspense and a rousing good time, Michael Phillip Cash creates a tongue-in-cheek alternate reality where witches cast spells and wreak havoc in modern day New York City.

A quick, entertaining audiobook that spins a humorous and throughly enjoyable tale of witches, secrets, duplicity and romance. The narration is great; it fits the characters well and let's the humour and intrigue of the novel come across well. The concept of a secret police agency that protects and keeps in line, the society of witches that lives hidden along humans is both fun and interesting. The characters are appealing and the story kept me entertained to the end. I received this audiobook from the author in exchange for an honest review.
It was an original idea; an agency set up to watch out for witches who've gone bad. I liked the idea of the younger son trying to live up to the standards of his high achieving family.
There were some moments of sloppy writing when items were described as "steampunk". Even for those who know what steampunk is, I think a little more detailed description is warranted.
There were multiple mispronunciations, which is just irritating.
Overall a fun, though sometimes predictable story
This book was a lot of fun! It was playful and unique. I'm always surprised reading a cash book. I love that it seems to be setup for a part 2. I hope that's what he's planning on doing.

Witches Protection Program is the first book by Michael Phillip Cash that I have read. The attention grabbing title is what made me give the book a try. I enjoyed the book so much that I purchased the audio-book version.
My heart wrenched immediately for Wes Rockville who was transferred out of his dream job, by his own father, after his very first assignment ended badly. It is impossible not to have empathy for him when you learn that his siblings are over-achievers who are his father’s pride and joy and that Wes has never measured up to his father’s unrealistic expectations. It is admiral that he worked so hard to overcome his learning disability in order to reach is goals. It is too bad that his wretched father didn’t acknowledge his accomplishments.
This transfer landed Wes in a secret unit called the Witches Protection Program. The W.P.P. offered protection to good witches (Davina) from bad witches (Willa). Since Wes, like most of the world, had no idea that witches were not fictional characters, he initially believed that his brother was playing a joke on him.
At the W. P.P., a veteran named Alastair Verne partnered with Wes. They were tipped off, by an informant, to a diabolical plan for world domination by the CEO of the Pendragon Cosmetic Company. I admit that the plan brought on a fit of giggles when I learned that it involved face cream and witches DNA.
While investigating this tip, they discovered that the heiress, Morgan Pendragon was in danger from her Aunt Bernadette, the CEO of the P.C.C.
Unfortunately, Morgan wasn’t interested in being protected by the W.P.P. because she didn’t believe that she was really in danger. In fact, she had her own plans to foil her aunt’s scheme.
If you are looking for an entertaining and amusing, witchy adventure, this tale is for you.
I really enjoyed the narrator!
