Praise for Wicked Game:
“Chilling... Swift pacing and an intriguing plot make this a first-rate supernatural thriller.” (Publishers Weekly)
Don't listen to the review of Robert - Susan Ericksen is the best narrator you can come across, she's the absoulte queen of all different accents, characters, moods and everything. If there is one that can make a bad book (which this one certainly is not!!!) a great one - it's her! Just try it, you're gonna love her - and the story :-)
I truly love Lisa Jackson's previous books and couldn't wait to hear this one. Imagine my surprise when it turned out to be so terribly boring. Too much detail and convoluted storyline. I also have also enjoyed listening to Susan Erickson, particularly with J D Robb's In Death series. Her reading of this book came out as very angry with alot of angst and drama. I returned the book without even finishing the first section. Just waaaaay too BORING!
Tell us about yourself!
Great Listen...!! Lisa Jackson, one of my favorite authors!!! I started this book...however,thinking it wasn't what I thought...then restarted...and honestly couldn't put it down!! i continued to listen even after a 11hr drive...Susan Ericksen is one of my favorite narrators also... I think she did an excellent job!! Sister!!
I wouldn't say the time listening was wasted, but I found the repetition of a few phrases to be a bit much. Especially the use of " released a breath she/he wasn't aware they were holding" It was used 3 times in the first 5 chapters, it got very annoying.
I love Susan Ericksen's ability to put the right spin on emotions in her characters. I realize she's reading a story written by another but she seems to capture the drama very well.
Yes! Becuz it's a Great Story and the Narrator "Susan Ericksen" Gave a Awesome Performance As ALWAYS!!
Can't think of one in particular at the moment, But I Look forward to Reading MORE of Lisa Jackson's Novels!!!
didn't have any certain favorite scene I Enjoyed the Whole Story!
Yes, has interesting characters and the story line kept me on the edge....
whom ever chooses the Narrator's MADE an Excellent Choice with "Susan Ericksen" She does the reading for Another Series that I Read by another Authur...
Avid general reader with a fondness for British and Irish Writers and world history.
The author(s) is attempting to mix several forms of writing and several grammatical approaches. It does not work and does not do any justice to the characters - none of whom really have any 'personality' because the author has already indicated what the reader is supposed to think of them. There seems to be a built-in prejudice and ignorance about almost all the subject matter. I hope that any future writings would give evidence of more research into both subject matter and personation of her characters.
I don't know. Haven't read the print version.
Intrigue. Kept me wondering and wanting to keep listening.
Susan Ericksen is great. The first search I do for an audio book is to find those narrated by Susan. I can listen to her voice all day!
No, not one moment. The entire story kept me reading.
I did not know this was the second book, until I finished Wicked Lies and started searching for another book by this author. I read reviews that say the first book is much better. But, I can't imagine that because I loved Wicked Lies. I will now read the first book!
The story was frustrating...The way she refused to go to the police..ever tell the truth to anyone and draw out the entire story got to be too much. Then the worst part was when it ended they didn't give us anything for the pain and suffering of having to listen to the book.
I won't go into a long diatribe regarding this book and get straight to the point. All in all, a good storyline with strong characters. But the narrator made everyone but the main characters, childish, rude, angry with bad attitudes. The sarcastic tone she used was very irritating at times. If you can get past that, I think you'll enjoy the book.
Apparently there is a prequel to this, but I couldn't find it on the site, which is a bit annoying; however, the plot doesn't require previous knowledge, so you're fine! A recently divorced nurse starts receiving psychic messages from an escaped serial killer. She must team up with a reporter to try and stop the killer taking out her sisters in the commune she grew up in.
