When a traveling circus comes to the town of Wachita, Texas bad things begin to happen under the Big Top. Super-sized sleuths, Sue Jan and Lovita take to the tents to track down a crazy clown killer, even though Lovita is fixing to give birth in just a few short weeks. And if that's not enough, a scary Sasquatch is sighted in the Wachita woods, attracting a TV news reporter, a Bigfoot investigative team and a reality show film crew. The townsfolk are shaking in their cowboy boots but Sue Jan and Lovita aren't clowning around.

Michelle is a great narrator and she knows how much I love this little series...she is always kind enough to offer me a copy to review...and I love the story every time! This one was super great...there is a circus in town, and mysterious murders are happening...and even some sasquatch sighting! LOL Of course our lovely fat ladies are ON IT! Both are pregnant, but that doesn't stop them...even though poor Lovita is about to pop any day now...they of course solve the mystery, and just in time for Lovita to have her beautiful baby girl!! LOVED IT!!
THIS WHOLE SERIES IS WELL WORTH YOUR TIME AND CREDITS...ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE A COZY MYSTERY LOVER!!!
THANKS MICHELLE, GREAT JOB AS ALWAYS!!! <3
The girls are back We see a traveling circus with "Creepy Clowns" and a whole bunch of strange characters. We get lots of snarky remarks and I found myself laughing out loud. It gets funnier everytime. Kudos to the narrator. Great job !!!
Once again, Linda Kozar provides another delightful romp through the lives of Lovita and Sue Jan. This time the circus comes to town, there are murders, near murders, family feuds, psycho clown killers, Sasquatch sightings and all of this with Lovita nine months pregnant and ready to pop. The action never ends in this pager turner. We listened to the always wonderful narration of Michelle Babb. This woman is a delight to listen to. She has the accents and character voices down to a "T" and style that is most pleasant and delightful. I fully recommend this book for either reading or listening to. You will be the winner here if you do.
Another fun mystery from the beauty salon in Texas. Each one is as funny as can be, and the investigation by two great friends is always enjoyable, never disappointing. See publisher's blurb for plot clues, no spoilers here. Just be prepared to be amazed by all the quirky developments!
Michelle Babb continues to give voice and interpret the personalities faithfully to the written, and add even more!
Disciple of the written word and Audible fanatic. I am an Urban and Epic Fantasy Fan. I also enjoy some Paranormal Romance.
I think I will get the rest of the series. Definitely what I needed after reading some very dark stories. Good, light hearted and engaging.
I always love my visits to Wachita, Texas and catch up with Sue Jan and Lovita. They are like old friends at this point. I especially enjoy listening to this series on audio. Michelle Babb, the narrator, brings these characters to life. Both the narrator and author do an excellent job of painting vivid pictures of these characters as well as the secondary characters.
This book and the entire series makes you smile. There’s humor throughout the story. The mystery is intriguing and fast-paced.
Readers will shake their heads at Sue Jan and Lovita’s antics. This series is a great stress reliever for me since I listen on my way to work. It makes the commute very enjoyable.

Super sleuths Lovita and Sue Jan are at it again in Weighty Matters An Until The Fat Ladies Sing Mystery book 4. When a circus comes to town allot starts to go wrong like a tire getting shot out and people are turning up dead or hurt. Long time friends Lovita and Sue Jan ,both expectant moms, have to hurry to find the killer or killers, and figure out who wants other circus members dead along with sightings of a strange creature.
Linda Kozar does a great job with another great cozy mystery with funny puns and a story full of action.
Michelle Babb has an awesome talent for bringing all the characters to life and giving them their own unique sound and personality. I enjoy listening to her work.
You know that Loveta and Sue Jan are going to be in the middle of things when there's murderous activity, and it's no different when "a circus" comes to their little town. Things are a little more complicated for them this go-round, because their both pregnant. They still give it their darndest to figure who the bad guy or gal is.
If you love cozy mysteries, you will love Weighty Matters by Linda Kozar and narrated by Michelle Babb. The books in this series that I've listened to have all been very entertaining. They are laugh out loud funny. The narration makes them even better. This one was full of puns that at times took me by surprise. There was a character named Pickle that provided the basis for many. Hope you find this revue helpful--it was really no big dill. Sorry, I couldn't resist!
I was given a complimentary copy of this audiobook.
Listening to “Weighty Matters: Until the Fat Ladies Sing Mysteries, Book 6” by Linda Kozar is like visiting two old friends—as soon as you get together, you pick right back up where you left off. This is a fun, humorous series that doesn’t take itself too seriously. The characters, especially Sue Jan, are written to be a little over the top and that’s okay. This time, the hugely pregnant Lovita and Sue Jan get involved with a series of mysteries surrounding the circus that has come to town. There are also multiple sightings of Sasquatch in the area. Clearly, there is a lot going on and the two intrepid salon owners/detectives inject themselves into the middle of the action. Between the array of eccentric circus performers, Bigfoot hunters and townspeople, this book has a large number of characters in it, and Lovita and Sue Jan interact with all of them. Humor aside, the plot is actually pretty intricate with plenty of subplots, red herrings and a solution that isn’t necessarily obvious halfway through the book. Kudos for that.
This is a book that I enjoyed very much but recognize it may not be for everyone. The folksy dialog of Lovita and, especially, Sue Jan, who frequently butchers the English language, may not appeal to all readers. I felt it was part of the charm and humor of the book. That said, the deep affection between Lovita and Sue Jan brings real heart to this book, and I appreciate that both are good women who try to do the right things and help others.
Michelle Babb does a great job reading the book. She is especially adept at voicing Lovita and Sue Jan, giving each a distinct voice with just the right amount of an accent.
I was given a copy of this book by Michelle Babb in exchange for an honest review. I was not required to write a favorable review.
