"Not the best in the series"

I think the Neil Carey character may be getting stale, maybe Don should have stopped at book 2 of the series.

    "Ok, But Just!!"

How many folks are nutz enough to think they are going to dig a little fort in the middle of nowhere and somehow bait the entirety of Western Civilization into lining up for a showdown. These Libertarians are apparently chewing sacred desert peyote buttons while they hatch their schemes because choosing a town for your headquarters that doesn't even have a gas station is going to tend to keep thing a bit too quiet. If you take on the entire United States government, you should at least have a way of letting them know you're mad at them. Good God, the man's neighbor and best friend failed to notice.
But I like some of the characters and Winslow is a much better writer than this plot deserves. I do love to read Mr. Wilson's stories. Funny that.

    "Don Winslow never disappoints"

A little violent for this series featuring Neal, the hapless, inadvertent detective, but well-written and way exciting. Don't read it before you go to bed.
