Publisher's summary

While taking a class trip to South America, 16 friends are ambushed, captured, and taken to a nearby village run by a madman. It becomes clear that this is no ordinary village. It is a village of slaves, psychological warfare, and pure terror. With nothing but her wits and the voice of her dead uncle to guide her, Brooke Kylee must find a way to escape the horror while still maintaining the one thing she has left: her sanity.

Village Americana

What did you like best about this story?

It is fast-faced, gritty, has well-cast characters and great dialogue. Hooks and his men kidnap a group of kids in the jungle with the intention of slaughtering them - all except one, a girl, who Hooks has designs on. But he and his men have underestimated the young lady.

3.5 Stars, pretty good but very graphic

*I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
This book is definitely only for mature audiences! I was taken aback at first because the book pretty much starts right in the middle of an interrogation. If I hadn’t have read the synopsis, then I wouldn’t have known what was going on at first. Other than that, I had no issues with the book at all. It was very graphic at times, but I knew that going in so it didn’t bother me. I enjoyed the book and give it 3.5 STARS.
