Publisher's summary

The Women's Murder Club is stalked by a killer with nothing to lose.

San Francisco Detective Lindsay Boxer is loving her life as a new mother. With an attentive husband, a job she loves, plus best friends who can talk about anything from sex to murder, things couldn't be better.

Then the FBI sends Lindsay a photo of a killer from her past, and her happy world is shattered. The picture captures a beautiful woman at a stoplight. But all Lindsay sees is the psychopath behind those seductive eyes: Mackie Morales, the most deranged and dangerous mind the Women's Murder Club has ever encountered.

In this pulse-racing, emotionally charged novel by James Patterson, the Women's Murder Club must find a killer - before she finds them first.

Critic reviews

"I can't believe how good Patterson is, whether he's doing a Washington police yarn or traveling a different road with a female narrator. He is always on the mark. I have never begun a Patterson book and been able to put it down." (Larry King, USA Today )

Three story lines. Need to keep characters straight. Parts - edge of seat quality. Entertaining.

Catch me if you can!!!!!!

What did you love best about Unlucky 13?

Two storylines, two great stories. The pace of a book is very important to me. This one's a quick one. Great listen.

Which character – as performed by January LaVoy – was your favorite?

Yuki more than the rest. There isn't much of a difference between each character. That said she did keep the pace going.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Just about did, Can't wait for 14.

My last WMC?

I cannot stand listening to the narrator. When did these girls become such over-the-top swoony, sweet saps? "I'm sooooooo in love" blah, blah, blah....Carolyn McCormick did a much better job portraying these women as strong, independent, intelligent, tough women - is it the narrator or what the narrator has to work with in the writing? I don't know for sure, but I do know that this is likely my last WMC on audio - unless Carolyn McCormick comes back.

Great 3 Stories in One

Worth a credit to hear 3 different adventures in one book. I love Ms LaVoys narrations of this series. I can see author Ms Paetro touches in these stories, very feminine and takes the harshness out Murder and mayhem. If you would like more, see Marcia Clark’s two series, both are great.
I do use the 1.25x speed to match the adventure. Give it a try.
The publishers summery is spot on. If you like one long story, this is not it, but if you like quick fast pace adventures where most of the team players get their own story, then this is for you.
I am reading out of order all of Ms LaVoys narrations of this series , and this book keeps you gabbing as much listening time as you can manage. I will listen to this one again. I love Jackson Bradys character in this book, and look forward to the story that introduces him to the cast of characters.
Were my comments of help?
