Publisher's summary

Stone Barrington finds intrigue abroad in the sensational new thriller by the New York Times best-selling author.

Stone Barrington is no stranger to schemes and deceptions of all stripes - as an attorney for the premier white-shoe law firm Woodman & Weld, he’s seen more than his share. But when he travels to Europe under highly unusual circumstances, Stone finds himself at the center of a mystery that is, even by his standards, most peculiar. Two unexpected invitations may be the first clues in an intricate puzzle Stone must unravel to learn the truth...a puzzle that will lead him deep into the rarefied world of European ultrawealth and privilege, where billionaires rub elbows with spooks, insider knowledge is traded at a high premium, and murder is never too high a price to pay for a desired end. It soon becomes clear that beneath the bright lights of Europe lurks a shadowy underworld...and its only rule is deadly ambition.

The narrator ruins it! I'll read the next book!

What did you like best about Unintended Consequences? What did you like least?

I like all of Stuart Woods books, but Stone Barrington is particularly likable

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

More Dino!

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Tony Roberts?

Dick Hill. He was SOOOO much better! I've read the last several Stone Barrington books and upon returning to listening to them I was so disappointed in the narration that it made me want to give on up listening. Tony Roberts made every character seem like a laughable over affected ass, and every character sounds as though the eat cigars for breakfast. Terrible.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Yes, if the actors didn't talk like this narration

Any additional comments?

PLEASE don't use this narrator again.

Story fair not great. Tony Roberts was terrific.

The story was all over the map. Not enough DINO! Not enough about New York and their favorite hangouts. Too many things going on all at once. Stone is getting a little long in the tooth to be flitting from women to women. Settle down already! However I'll be waiting for the next chapter in the Stone Barrington series. I'm hooked on Stone and Tony Roberts.

Just OK

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I always enjoy the Stone Barrington stories.

If you’ve listened to books by Stuart Woods before, how does this one compare?

This one was "just OK," not the best in the series but still readable. Good escape reading.

Have you listened to any of Tony Roberts’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I think Tony Roberts is the voice of Stone Barrington, I can't imagine the audible series without him.

Terrible

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

No one.

What was most disappointing about Stuart Woods’s story?

Not even close to being up to par.

What didn’t you like about Tony Roberts’s performance?

Mechanical, but didn't have much material to work with.

More plugs for Stuart Woods' favorite restaurants

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Probably not. The usual chase without much plot. Bad guys are like Wile E. Coyote - always getting hit on the head with the Acme anvil

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

NO

Not His Best Work

Is there anything you would change about this book?

The book reads as if different people wrote different parts and the parts were put together. Many of the vinettes could be removed and the story wouldn't miss it.

Would you ever listen to anything by Stuart Woods again?

Yes but the next book had better not be as mundane.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

At times, Tony Roberts mixed his voices up. Stone and Dino were the only characters whose voices remained the same through out the book.

Another great Barrington - just a little too short

I love Stuart Woods and amazed at the pace he is able to write. All the Barrington novels, plus the other novels in between. He is a great writer and this is no exception. My only issue would be this seemed to be over not long after it began. Still worth that credit !

Not One of Stuart Woods Best

Would you try another book from Stuart Woods and/or Tony Roberts?

Yes ... I would read another Stuart Woods book based on past performance. Not this book.

Would you ever listen to anything by Stuart Woods again?

This book hasn't increased my nterest. If this was the first book I read of Stuart Woods ... I wouldn't read another one.

What about Tony Roberts’s performance did you like?

It seems like Stuart Woods was just trying to put out another book. This definitely was not one of his best works. I was very very disappointed.
