For Jack Reacher being invisible has become a habit. He spends his days digging swimming pools by hand and his nights as the bouncer in the local strip club in the Florida Keys. He doesn't want to be found.
But someone has sent a private detective to seek him out. Then Reacher finds the guy beaten to death with his fingertips sliced off.
It's time to head north and work out who is trying to find him and why.

Cut out all the endless description of every movement, room etc that added nothing to the story or characters.
These days we all own calculators, so endelss calculations of how many seconds how many metres etc were just waffle put in to stretch a poorly developed plot to a never ending story.
I am a fan of all the Reacher stories, but this one was the exception - it was just plain boring.
The reader made things worse, he would be more suited to reading cook books for old ladies.
Why, why would ask anyone else but Jeff Harding to read Reacher ??????
Definitely nothing read by Mr Hagon, sorry mate look for something else to do.
Not many Reacher books left on here, but you can't go wrong with Jeff Harding, he makes bad writers sound good and good writers sound better!
A complete re-write.
None, I would turn it into a first person novel.
"Jack Reacher.. Don't mess with this man"
Reacher novels have me hooked. I was not disappointed by this one and it kept me on the edge of my seat.
"Really poor production spoilt story"
I have to say that whilst we enjoy Jack Reacher stories (and will try another one) this was spoilt by the poor production quality. There was hardly a pause as the reader went from one story line to another making it confusing. There was a persistent hiss in the background and sound quality was poor. Couple this with a boring American drawl and you have poor production. And to cap it all off one of the story lines was left hanging by Lee Child. Damned annoying
I'm listening to The snow flower and the secret fan at the moment.
None, I'd just finish off what the hell happened to Chester Stone and his wife Maryline.
"Not what we expect from an all action hero"
Not sure, maybe
Too much "will they won't they" love interest and not enough action
Reasonable differentiation between characters
Certainly not - we couldn't finish this one
This is the third Jack Reacher audio we've listened to but we couldn't get past the first half. My wife and I both got really bored with his supposed love interest and gave up on it long before the half way point
Yes yes yes - they are amazing !!!!
Just awful voice - sorry! Really slow and dreary and oh, so irritating!I adore the Jack Reacher stories but simply had to give up on this one :(Have moved on to the next one. With the exception of Persuader which is read by Dick Hill who is a good narrator, all the rest of the Reacher stories are read by Jeff Harding. He reads brilliantly and by the time you have listened to two or three read by him, Jeff Harding is THE voice and no other will do! Thank goodness he has narrated all the rest!
Never got very far for reasons stated above
Nope! Please see above.
"A real page-turner"
I've only listened to a few, but it's a great story
It's as good as the other two Jack Reacher novels I've listened to
It's hard to say, and I don't want to spoil it for other readers,
Parts made me laugh and other parts meant I just had to keep listening.
Yes, one of the chapters turned up in the wrong place, about 2 hours 30 minutes before the end of the book. It was from earlier. Apart from that, it was great and well - read.
"Not the best Jack Reacher novel...."
The underlying story isn't bad, but is dragged down by overly focusing on the (sometimes slightly disturbing) relationship between Jack Reacher and Jodie.
No, there are too many other novels I would recommend above this.
Most of it, unfortunately. His performance just didn't resonate - and his interpretation of some of the characters was, at times, unpleasant to listen to.
Not a great listen, unfortunately. There are at least a dozen better Jack Reacher novels to work through.
"Getting to know Jack Reacher"
A harsh, often upsetting story, immensely informative about how the U.S.Army works.
Learning more of Reacher's take on life in general, on his in particular.
"A Tedious Listen At Times"
Decent story which would have been excellent if the superfluous narration had been cut down by at least 3 hours. The female voice wasn't right either.
