Publisher's summary

From Atlanta's wealthiest suburbs to its stark inner-city housing projects, a killer has crossed the boundaries of wealth and race. And the people who are chasing him must cross those boundaries, too. Among them is Michael Ormewood, a veteran detective whose marriage is hanging by a thread and whose arrogance and explosive temper are threatening his career. And Angie Polaski, a beautiful vice cop who was once Michael's lover before she became his enemy. But unbeknownst to both of them, another player has entered the game: a loser ex-con who has stumbled upon the killer's trail in the most coincidental of ways and who may be the key to breaking the case wide open.

In this gritty, gripping firecracker of a novel, the author of the best-selling Grant County, Georgia, series breaks thrilling new ground, weaving together the threads of a complex, multilayered story with the skill of a master craftsman. Packed with body-bending switchbacks, searing psychological suspense and human emotions, Triptych ratchets up the tension one revelation at a time as it races to a shattering and unforgettable climax.

A winner. Entertaining and chilliing!!

This is a great listen. Granted the southern accents were probably a bit overdone but i'm not southern so they were just an annoyance to me. The story itself is on the highest list of my favorites. If you liked Monkeewrench by PJ Tracy or books by Michael Connelly,John Katzenbach and Harlen Coben, this book is for you. I found this book exceeds her Sara Linton and Jeffrey Tolliver series. This was one listen I could not put down. I would recommend this one to anyone who likes a good thorough mystery.

Fantastic Writing

First...I agree. The accents are bad (another southerner weighs in), but not enough to turn me off of the book. This author really gets into the minds of all of her characters, creating (with one exception), real people. The story is nuanced and well written. A good reason to get up and drive 50 min to work every day.

This is an AMAZING STORY!!!

Ms. Slaughter has written an amazing story, sometimes tough to handle, but a tight, well written mystery. This is the kind of work I've seen from each of her books I've read. .

It is too bad that this narrator doesn't do this book justice. His monotone about drove me crazy, but the story was good enough that I was willing to put up with it.

This book carries you with full force all the way to the end.

Great Story, not much else to say...

I can't add to all the superlatives that others have said about this audiobook. I can only say ditto to them and highly recommend this book!!! I will definitely read the next in the series...

Hard on Imagery, but Wonderfully Written

This is an emotionally tearing book; I think in general. It touches on exploitation, serial rapist, murder, prison and so many things between. The main character fluctuates between a few characters really, but it brings a lot of depth and realism to the book. Will definitely be continuing to see how things go.

If you watched the show before reading the book, you're going to side eye one character pretty hard from this point on...

Good thriller

Fun, quick read with a few big twists that will leave you hanging chapter to chapter. I have some problems with it but I don't want to spoil the story. It's worth the read!

Slow to Start with Great Twists

I have come to enjoy Karin Slaughter's twisted and winding stories. This was a slow start on this book for me after reading the Grant County series and to hear things from Will's perspective was such a switch. However, he grew on me and now I am reading to hear the rest of his stories.
