Publisher's summary

This is my family: Vanished without a trace....

Justin and Libby Denbe have the kind of life you’d find in the pages of a glossy magazine: A beautiful 14-year-old daughter. A gorgeous brownstone on a tree-lined street in Boston’s Back Bay neighborhood. A great marriage, admired by all. A perfect life.

This is what I know: Pain has a flavor....

When investigator Tessa Leone arrives at the crime scene in the foyer of the Denbes’ home, she finds scuff marks on the floor and a million tiny pieces of bright green Taser confetti. The family appears to have been abducted, with only a pile of their cell phones and electronic devices remaining. No witnesses, no ransom demands, no motive. Just a perfect little family, gone.

This is what I fear: The worst is yet to come....

Tessa knows better than anyone that flawless fronts can hide the darkest secrets. Now she must race against the clock to uncover the Denbes’ innermost dealings, a complex tangle of friendships and betrayal, big business and small sacrifices. Who would want to kidnap such a perfect little family? And how far would such a person be willing to go?

This is the truth: Love, safety, family . . . it’s all touch and go.

Plot twists are Ms. Gardner's signature.

I've thoroughly enjoyed all Ms. Gardner's books and like the fact that she maintains a character connection between each book. I also like the fact that the "good guy" isn't always good just as the "bad guy" isn't always bad. Justice might prevail but not always from a legal standpoint and this same justice is invariably just as short-sighted as the human exercising it.

I will try to be patient for her next book.

Started a little slow for me but good overall

Would you listen to Touch & Go again? Why?

I was getting a little impatient waiting for something interesting to happen but by the second half of the book, it started getting more interesting. It was definitely in later in the book. She is a good writer and can get away with more dialogue. I've obviously been spoiled by more suspenseful books. It did not disappoint after all.

Twist and turns

Enjoyed how this story line took twist and turns so I never knew the ending...until the very end.

Very enjoyable listening.

A real nail biter..kept me interested

While not the best book I have ever heard, it's one of Gardner's better ones. I think I got it on special and didn't realize until I was well into this book that there was another book prior to "Touch and Go". There were several references to it that were distracting, especially when the listener hasn't a clue what was going on then.

I found both the 'good guys' and 'bad guys' interesting. Gardner would be well served to write more about "Z" and "Riley", the two bad guys who were the least bad..I don't usually like obvious bad guys but these two had some sympathetic attitudes.

The plot was fascinating - it kept me involved in the story and eager to know what was going to happen next. There was no clear clue as to "who dun it" - the cop crew..all of them..had distinct personalities as did each of the major characters that worked for the construction company.

I was surprised at the end-since I frequently figure out this kind of mystery someplace during the narration, it was a pleasant change up.

Worth your credit..I see I'm in the minority here with that opinion..but do listen to the first book "Love You More" prior to this one.

Stop! Read Love You More first!

Don't know why this isn't D.D. Warren #7. Probably because she is such a minor character, but it does fit in chronologically. However, it should be Tessa Leone #2.Too much happens to Tessa in that book that you should know about before reading this one.
I walked an extra 2 miles listening to the end of the story.....couldn't stop.
The narrator's voices are spot on.

Love Lisa Gardner and really enjoyed this addition

As always, Lisa Gardner, did not disappoint. I loves how she is able to tell a story from various character perspectives and although I thought I knew who the mastermind was I didn't figure it out until the investigators did (which to me makes for a more exciting book!)

Definitely would recommend to anyone who enjoys her other novels.

One character's voice really bugged me

Would you listen to another book narrated by Elisabeth Rodgers?

I liked this reader except for her characterization of the main characters voice, if her characterizations of the other characters had not been so good, I would probably avaoid her in the future

loved it, loved it, loved it.

Where does Touch & Go rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This is my first time reading anything by this author, but it won't be my last. I could not stop listening to this book. Excellent story, great narration. Lots of twists and turns. I won't say I didn't suspect the ending, but getting there was oh so fun!!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

yes and I pretty much did.

Oh My Gosh!

Would you listen to Touch & Go again? Why?

No, I usually dont read books over again. but if I ever did, this would be the one!

Any additional comments?

The Best book I've read or listened to in my recent memory. Edge of your seat suspense, so to speak, suspense and real life family and human problems. The different twists and turns Ms. Gardner takes are so complex but make sense when you get the whole picture. they are ripples from events I wouldn't have thought of. This is not the same old, same old.
Excellent narrator. One of my very favorites also.
