Publisher's summary

Here is an exciting original short story written exclusively for audio, featuring the Torchwood characters and read by Naoko Mori, who plays Toshiko in the television series.

An age-old secret is buried in the heart of the Welsh countryside. After a series of violent and seemingly unrelated deaths, the solution to a riddle seems to point the finger of blame at Captain Jack Harkness. Can the Torchwood team uncover the truth that lies hidden in time to save Jack?

Great original story

A really enjoyable story that captures the spirit of Torchwood. Good tension, characters well-captured, and it takes you places that the series can't go. Well worth the listen.

Almost as good as TV

I am a fan of Torchwood on BBC. The audiobook was very good and I would recommend it. However, sometimes it felt like the author was trying a little too hard to make things exciting. Still a good listen.

Torchwood Is Where It's At People

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

After watching all of the new Dr. Who series I thought I would watch the Torchwood spinoff, and became hooked. When I was done with all of those episodes I was stoked when I found these audiobooks on Audible. I listened to this particular book a while back so I'm just generally reviewing these books. I went on a long trip and downloaded a bunch of them. To my complete surprise I felt like I was right back there watching those amazing Torchwood episodes. I cannot believe this show hasn't gotten the attention it deserves. The writing and cast are OUTSTANDING and I'm so grateful to have so many of these audiobooks to go through! I love having the cast read the stories out loud. Some of them are read by the entire cast and some by one cast member. To be honest I don't prefer either. If the story is good, I don't even realize who is telling me the story because I'm right there IN the story seeing everything in my head. I can say with all honestly I am flat out obsessed with Torchwood and next time I go abroad I will definitely be making a trip to Cardiff Bay so I can visit Torchwood and um The Doctor Who Experience. All of these books are good. Except for that Everyone Says Hello One. What is that one about. So Boring. Don't Listen To That One.

Good read, ambiguous ending

Who doesn't love Torchwood? And no one could hate Naoko Mori, who, after all, plays Tosh in the series. She echoes her co-stars extremely well, their vocal signatures and patterns, etc. The ending could use a bit of help...okay, a lot of help; it moves through the critical 'reveal' at such a fast pace I was left scratching my head and going, 'huh?' One can't help but think that if it were done in a visual media, it would make more sense, but as an audiobook, it leaves the audience hanging and having to invent visuals for themselves. Overall, though... pretty good 'read.'

Great.

I really enjoyed this story, Steven Savile has a way with words. At some points I was actually laughing out loud. I was slightly disappointed with the narration, it was difficult for me to get into, it wasn't very smooth and fluid which I'm used too. I felt it improved as the story went on, but overall I felt it took away from a good, well written story.
