Publisher's summary

One of Tom Clancy's most storied characters, Dominic Caruso, is the only one who can stop America's secrets from falling into enemy hands in this blockbuster new novel written by Clancy's longtime coauthor.

Over the course of three decades, Tom Clancy created a world alive with prescient action and remarkable individuals. In Tom Clancy Support and Defend, Dominic Caruso is presented with the deadliest challenge of his career.

Dominic Caruso. Nephew of President Jack Ryan. FBI agent and operator for The Campus, a top secret intelligence agency that works off the books for the U.S. government. Already scarred by the death of his brother, Caruso is devastated when he can't save a friend and his family from a terrorist attack.

Ethan Ross was a mid-level staffer for the National Security Council. Now he's a wanted fugitive on the run with a microdrive that contains enough information to wreck American intelligence efforts around the world. The CIA is desperate to get the drive back, but so are the Russians and various terrorist groups all of whom are closer to catching the fugitive. Only Caruso stands in their way, but can he succeed without the aid of his Campus colleagues?

Terrorism has many faces and methods

I struggled with the plot in the beginning but had me wanting more be the end. I can now see building on the character.

It was a pleasure to read and kept me engaged the whole time. I also really like the way Scott Brick reads the material. A lot of fun.

This one has to be a movie!

Would you consider the audio edition of Tom Clancy Support and Defend to be better than the print version?

Much Better!

What does Scott Brick bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Good character references, his depictions and inflections bring you right into the story

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

when Mr. Curuso found out that the army platoon coming to defend him had only blanks

Excellent & suspenseful

Another ‘The Campus’ novel with great suspense. This time we follow only one of the operators. It’s a rousing good time.

Pretty good, needs more character development

The plot itself was pretty good. Plenty of action and suspense. It was a curious book in that Greaney spent time exploring the character and motivations of the main "bad guy" and not nearly as much about the Dom Caruso, the main hero. I would have liked to know more what makes Dom tick. As it stands the book made him pretty 2 dimensional.

masterful thrill ride

What made the experience of listening to Tom Clancy Support and Defend the most enjoyable?

The way Mark Greaney told this story buy taking a Character like Dominic Caruso and expanding on what he has been changing into then adding more characters to help fill the story just like Tom would do

What did you like best about this story?

The way the ending shaped up, it was such a heart pounding thrill ride

What does Scott Brick bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Scott was very good, I liked Lou Diamond from the last few better, but Scott has done a few earlier Clancy Novels and thus he is very good at what he does and he did bring some characters to life

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

You laughed in parts with the wit of Dom and Adara Sherman. The book was driven like a thriller should be. Well thought out and full of great characters.

Any additional comments?

This will set up for the next Campus novel and the whole team. I can't wait for that one. This book the first where Mark Greaney was solo and he hit it out of the park into the street. I loved the ending, I loved the building the story up and I loved seeing a fun character like Dominic Caruso grow and his value to the Campus just grew even deeper. Adara Sherman having a bigger part was very nice too almost wished we could have a novel with her she seems like she can take care of herself very well too.

Slow weak story

Good thing I was trapped on a plane or I would have not finished the book. Very slow getting started. The last 8 chapters were what I would expect from a Clancy novel.
