Publisher's summary

The Navy SEALs have been fighting terrorists around the world for over a decade. And for all that time, the Bandito Platoon SEALS from SEAL Team Seven have been on continuous combat rotation. Now they have drawn a shipboard assignment off Central America - an easy day.

But for a Navy SEAL, the only easy day was yesterday.

In a powerful story of global anti-terrorism inspired by real life missions, Act of Valor combines stunning combat scenes, up-to-the-minute battlefield technology, and heart-pumping emotion for the ultimate action adventure.

Act of Valor takes you deep into the secretive world of today’s most elite, highly trained group of warriors. When the rescue of a kidnapped CIA operative leads to the discovery of a deadly terrorist plot against the United States, a team of SEALs is dispatched on a worldwide manhunt. As the men of Bandito Platoon race to stop a coordinated attack that could kill and wound thousands of American civilians, they must balance their commitments to country, team, and their families back home.

But each time they accomplish their mission, a new piece of intelligence reveals another shocking twist to the plot, which stretches from Chechnya to the Philippines and from Ukraine to Somalia. The widening operation sends the SEALs across the globe as they track the terrorist ring to the U.S.-Mexico border - where they engage in an epic firefight with potentially unimaginable consequences for America…

Great book. Can't wait to watch the movie! Narrator was good but pronounced some military words incorrectly.

wow

I loved this.
only problem was the narrator doesn't know how to pronounce the word "corpsman". The p AND S are silent!

99% there

The ONLY criticisms I have are the reader’s mispronunciations of words like corpsman which is actually pronounced without the s while he repeatedly put the”s” in. And toward the end Rosecrans is pronounced without the e being present. Other than that good book-riveting- and good performance.

Outstanding story of a group of true Patriots!

A fantastic story, well written and easy to listen to, with one exception. The story is so good, so accurate, and so compelling that it is not diminished by the flaws of the reader. Sadly unfamiliar with Naval and Navy Seal terminology, the repeated errors of pronunciation and technical understanding aggravated this listener. A little preparation goes a long way, and it wasn't done for this performance.

Very compelling story of US Navy Elite Warriors

This is a very good story about activities the USN Seals are currently involved in around the world. It gives a whole picture of what the Seals and their families deal with on a daily basis.

Very entertaining and well narrated.

What made the experience of listening to Tom Clancy Presents: Act of Valor the most enjoyable?

This isn't the best book you'll ever read. It's the equivalent of a good action movie with a decent action movie story; entertaining, explosive and sometimes a little moving.

Gripping! Magnificent story.

Would you consider the audio edition of Tom Clancy Presents: Act of Valor to be better than the print version?

Really loved this one in audio version. The narrator was outstanding at depicting the different character's voices and the urgency (and danger) of the situations. I'm sure that the print version would be good as well.

What about Steven Weber’s performance did you like?

Steven Weber was oustanding in narrating this book.

Any additional comments?

This one hits the nail on the head with detail! I was drawn in to the characters and the story. I found myself in tears on a few occasions. I would highly recommend this book!

Wham, bang, knock em dead

If you could sum up Tom Clancy Presents: Act of Valor in three words, what would they be?

Exciting. Edge of the chair.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Tom Clancy Presents: Act of Valor?

The nightmare Roark had.

Have you listened to any of Steven Weber’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Nope. Never heard of him before this book.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The moment of rescue.

Any additional comments?

I've only read half so far and I hope the rest is just as suspensful.

Great performance But......

Would you consider the audio edition of Tom Clancy Presents: Act of Valor to be better than the print version?

I wouldn't know I Drive a truck for a living so all of my books are on audio.

Would you be willing to try another book from Dick Couch and George Galdorisi ? Why or why not?

yes I would even though I thought this one was sort of rushed. I prefer more story detail and build up in a action story.

Any additional comments?

I really wanted to love this book. I went into it with very high hope's but I have to admit this one for me fell a little short. I will say this though I'm glad I listened to it before seeing the movie it helped to understand the story line of a very abridged version of the story the film used.
