Publisher's summary

There isn't much fun in the sun when a billionaire real-estate tycoon is found murdered on the Tilt-a-Whirl at a seedy seaside amusement park in the otherwise quiet summer tourist town of Sea Haven.

John Ceepak, a former MP just back from Iraq, has just joined the Sea Haven police department. The job offer came from an old Army buddy who hoped to give Ceepak at least a summer's worth of rest and relaxation to help him forget the horrors of war. Instead, Ceepak will head up the murder investigation. He is partnered with Danny Boyle, a 24-year-old part-time summer cop who doesn't carry a gun and only works with the police by day so he has enough pocket money left over to play with his beach buddies at night.

In the first novel in a new series written in the spirit of Carl Hiaasen's work, the Tilt-a-Whirl murder pushes Ceepak's deep sense of honor and integrity to the limits, as unexpected twists and turns keep the truth spinning wildly in every direction.

Tilt a Whirl... not coaster

What did you love best about Tilt-a-Whirl?

The young man telling the story is amusing. Enjoyed his viewpoint and clever comments.

What other book might you compare Tilt-a-Whirl to and why?

Can't think of a title. It is light, amusing reading with enough of a twist to make it interesting.

Have you listened to any of Jeff Woodman’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No but I will.

Any additional comments?

Why in the world wouldn't the cover have a picture of a Tilt a Whirl instead of a Roller Coaster? That seems like a major error!

Yeah! Found another lighthearted crime series.

I will forgive the silly ending because the journey was so pleasant. Great Narrater, great characters. Will probably end up going through the entire series joyfully.

This is very light hearted. Not intense at all. Jeff Woodman does a great job voicing the various characters without getting annoying.

Surprisingly Good

As usual for me, I bought this book because it was on sale. I wasn't happy with the foul language, but the story was surprisingly good. The ending was sad but I really got engaged with John Ceepak and Danny Boyle and I think I would like to get the next book to find out how they're doing. I just hope the foul language is toned down a bit....

Wonderfully voiced by Jeff Woodman, this is a must listen! A great mystery, atmospheric with a story that keeps on giving! Ceepak is the real deal and you can't wait to move on to the next!

I look forward to more in this series

I love the character of John Ceepak & Danny adds a great balance. I hope Dr. McDaniels makes more appearances in future books.

Pleasing

So this wasn't the most spellbinding mystery ever, but it was a very enjoyable book. Why? The narrator was awesome, he really made the book, good at using different voices. There was some pretty funny/cute dialogue made better by the narrator. While the story was mostly just okay, the characters were likeable and I will probably listen to more of these books just to hear more about those characters and because the narrator was so good. One thing I have am confused about....if the book is called Tilt-A-Whirl and the crime happened on a Tilt-A-Whirl, why is the picture on the cover a roller coaster????
