Publisher's summary

New York City's number-one detective, Michael Bennett, has a huge problem: the Son of Sam, the Werewolf of Wisteria, and the Mad Bomber are all back. The city has never been more terrified.

Tick: a killer's countdown begins
A rash of horrifying crimes tears through the city, throwing it into complete chaos and terrorizing everyone living there. Immediately, it becomes clear that they are not the work of an amateur, but of a calculating, efficient, and deadly mastermind.

Tick: Michael Bennett is on the chase
The city calls on Detective Michael Bennett, pulling him away from a seaside retreat with his 10 adopted children, his grandfather, and their beloved nanny, Mary Catherine. Not only does it tear apart their vacation, it leaves the entire family open to attack.

Tock: your time is up
Bennett enlists the help of a former colleague, FBI Agent Emily Parker. As his affection for Emily grows into something stronger, his relationship with Mary Catherine takes an unexpected turn. All too soon, another appalling crime leads Bennett to a shocking discovery that exposes the killer's pattern and the earth-shattering enormity of his plan.

Suspenseful and interesting

Would you consider the audio edition of Tick Tock: Michael Bennett, Book 4 to be better than the print version?

I would rather have read the book. I did not like either narrator's voice. The narration for Michael did not match the energy and attitude I had associated with him after reading the first three books. He sounded drained, depressed and nasally! I much prefer the energy I attached to the character in my own mind.

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

I think the main character's narration brought the book down. As previously mentioned it felt very low energy, drained and nasally! I think the villain's narration worked better.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, although it didn't work out that way.

Any additional comments?

I really liked the plot. I like Michael Bennet's character and am glad the Patterson has come up with a new character that I enjoy. The family dynamic and love interests are just right.

Michael Bennett s a character I'd like more of.

Another hit for Patterson! Michael Bennett is a character I'd like to see more of with his family and nanny interwoven in the story. Thanks James and Michael>

Love the Bennett Family!

Good quick listen which hold your interest. Good story line and action. I can hardly wait for the next installment to find out what happens between..... Oops, can't tell because it would spoil the story for those who are looking to enjoy it. All I can say that you will not be disappointed in the action and plot.

Fast-paced and Satisfying

I tended to stay away from James Patterson's co-authored books until I happened to stumble over the first in his Michael Bennett series. I was instantly hooked. Bennett and his family are immensely engaging. I was delighted to see another in the series, and it didn't disappoint. I read the first two and opted to listen to the next two. These audio versions are extremely well done. Bobby Cannavale's narration captures Michael Bennett perfectly in a voice as likable as the written character. Highly recommended.

Love it but wanted more...

I wish the story would have continue. What happened after the hospital, etc? This book kept me guessing and I started to feel like the lead detective...searching for clues and answers. Great read!

Wonderful at every turn

I loved every minute of it! It pulls you in and doesn't let go. Little hints of humor just makes it better. The narrator does a great job.
