Publisher's summary

For President Jack Ryan, his son Jack Ryan, Jr., and the covert organization known as The Campus, the fight against America’s enemies is never over. But the danger has just hit home in a way they never expected in this #1 New York Times bestselling Tom Clancy thriller....

The Campus has been discovered. And whoever knows they exist knows they can be destroyed. Meanwhile, President Jack Ryan has been swept back into the Oval Office - and his wisdom and courage are needed more desperately than ever.

Internal political and economic strife has pushed the leadership of China to the edge of disaster. And those who wish to consolidate their power are using the opportunity to strike at long-desired Taiwan, as well as the Americans who have protected the tiny nation.

Now, as two of the world’s superpowers move ever closer to a final confrontation, President Ryan must use the only wild card he has left - The Campus. But with their existence about to be revealed, they might not even have a chance to enter the battle before the world is consumed by war.

Cyberattack

Would you consider the audio edition of Threat Vector to be better than the print version?

I have only read the first Jack Jr book. The rest have been audible and great

What about Lou Diamond Phillips’s performance did you like?

Does a creditable job with all the characters.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

A great listen. Took two sessions to finish it.

Any additional comments?

The cyber attack lacked the detail of some of Clancy's previous technical descriptions. However it had at the same time all the anomalies of a cyber attack and like horror pictures of old was scary because of what you didn't see

Clancy Revival

Any additional comments?

It's been obvious over the past few years that Clancy is all but retired. However, whoever made the decision to hire Mark Greaney to write the Clancy books made a great decision. This book gave me the old Clancy feel written by one of the best up and comers in the business. If anybody is looking for another writer to follow, Mark Greaney and the Grey Man series is the way to go.

I love the campus.

I enjoy all of Clancy's books. The characters are rich even the bad guys. You really understand the mind-set of where they're coming from and it's always an adventure. lol..my favorite part had to be John Clarks fake heart attack..In my head, I'm imagined Fred G Sanford, " Elizabeth I'm coming to join you." not sure why but I couldn't stop laughing. John Clark is simply a badass. Even if he's an older guy. :)

As always Tom Clancy pulled off another good book in the series. A little slow getting started but turned out great.

This is so true to what is going on it is uncanny.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Absolutely I would recommend this book to a friend, it is probably more accurate that the news.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I really like Gavin Biery, the behind the scenes computer whiz who can do just about anything in the cyberworld.

What about Lou Diamond Phillips’s performance did you like?

Such a great and consistent portrayal of the characters.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It made me shudder, thinking that this cyber-warfare is really happening, and hoping we really have some folks that are as good as Jack Jr. and Ding and Gavin to defend us.

Any additional comments?

Tom Clancy will be missed greatly!

RIP Tom

Mark Greaney is doing a great job in continuing the Jack Ryan series. Lou Diamond Phillips continues to be the very best narrator of any audio book I've had the pleasure of listening to.

Another great Ryan story delivered with style

I've been following the stories of Jack Ryan and company since the 80's, always looking forward to the next instalment from Tom Clancy. This one continues the saga in a way that I think incorporates all the original values of the Ryan stories really well.

There are equal parts fast-paced plot and technology exposure. This time, although there is lots of detail of weapons used, etc., there is also a lot of computer technology in the picture. I've always found the technology aspect to make Clancy's stories more interesting.

Once again, the audio book is read by Lou Diamond Phillips with great pacing, consistent voicings, and an overall excellent presentation.

A great read!

loved it!

LDP murdered this book! (in a good way) unlike what he did to the mailman that's decomposing in his locker.
