Publisher's summary

For President Jack Ryan, his son Jack Ryan, Jr., and the covert organization known as The Campus, the fight against America’s enemies is never over. But the danger has just hit home in a way they never expected in this #1 New York Times bestselling Tom Clancy thriller....

The Campus has been discovered. And whoever knows they exist knows they can be destroyed. Meanwhile, President Jack Ryan has been swept back into the Oval Office - and his wisdom and courage are needed more desperately than ever.

Internal political and economic strife has pushed the leadership of China to the edge of disaster. And those who wish to consolidate their power are using the opportunity to strike at long-desired Taiwan, as well as the Americans who have protected the tiny nation.

Now, as two of the world’s superpowers move ever closer to a final confrontation, President Ryan must use the only wild card he has left - The Campus. But with their existence about to be revealed, they might not even have a chance to enter the battle before the world is consumed by war.

Very timely story

In a world of advanced technology and Cypher security this story hits home. our world is growing smaller and more interrelated but countries lead by evil leaders can do great harm. thank goodness for jack Ryan and his son.

Clancy Delivers Again!

Really interesting story. Great insights about cyber threats to US security. As always, well researched and presented. Reader is good, not great.

Good Listen

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes because it was interesting, return of some ol' favorite characters and some interesting new ones.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Sometimes.

Which character – as performed by Lou Diamond Phillips – was your favorite?

Adam "Yow"

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I was moved to anger and disbelief with Melanie's stupidity and wimpiness.

Any additional comments?

I loved the pace with which Lou Diamond Phillips read. I hope they continue to work with him.

Didn't want this book to end ...

This is one of those rare stories that could have been 3 or 4 books rather than one. Many of the supporting plot lines was so interesting I would have loved to see the sub-stories elevated. I don't say these things as criticism, but rather as a compliment. Clancy did a masterful job (as usual) with facts, locations, and keeping things realistic ... but he really shows development in his action sequences in this book. His characters are never going to Jason Bourne, mind you ... but all the same, this book exceeds his already great work in the action department. I highly recommend.

Awesome.

What did you love best about Threat Vector?

I am a huge Tom Clancy, Jack Ryan, and John Kelly fan. Not able to narrow down from there.

What did you like best about this story?

The way it mirrors current events in the World.

What does Lou Diamond Phillips bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

At first, I didn't think Lou Diamond Phillips could do justice to the characters, but he does have a surprising range of accents to keep the story flowing smoothly.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Clark is back.

A New Favorite

After reading "Threat Vector," it is definitely one of my favorite books. This book is of the same caliber of intrigue, suspense, and excitement as "Patriot Games" and "Rainbow Six." If you are new to the series, this would be an excellent introduction to provoke interest in reading the series from the beginning. It has enough backstory to get the reader up-to-date but plants enough intrigue to encourage the reader to want to know more about the fantastic characters and their origins. My only concern with the book is some details established earlier in the series are stated incorrectly. Despite the mistakes, the book is still an excellent read, and it only alters the series timeline a little.
