Publisher's summary

Patrick Davis is a man with troubles. First his Hollywood dreams crumble, then his storybook marriage hits a snag. Finally, DVDs start being delivered to his house – DVDs which show that someone is watching him and his wife, that the two of them are being stalked and recorded by cameras hidden around and within their house. Then the e-mails start, and someone offers to fix everything, to take the mess his life has become and make it all right. Patrick figures it's the offer of a lifetime.

But Patrick couldn’t be more wrong. With every step he is deeper and deeper into the a web of intrigue that threatens everything he still has and values in this world. Before he knows it, he's in and in deep - and the only way out is to outwit and outplay his unseen opponents at their own game.

Critic reviews

"This is one of those 'can't put it down' novels: a thriller that moves so fast that it leaves you gasping for breath..." ( Daily Mail (UK) on They're Watching)
"Hurwitz frequently sets us up to expect one thing but delivers something entirely different. He keeps us constantly on our toes, and—this is especially good—he keeps us guessing right until the very last pages about exactly who has targeted Patrick and why. Highly recommended, especially for fans of Dean Koontz, Linwood Barclay, and Harlan Coben." ( Booklist)

Keeps you engaged!

Great listen which kept my attention throughout! Good pacing, tension and characters. Scott Brick was awesome as the narrator (as always - he can make a grocery list sound suspenseful).

Awesome

This may have been the best audiobook I've ever listened to, both in terms of story line and performance.

over the top dramatic

Many moments in the book were over the top dramatic. I still finished the book and enjoyed some parts of it.

gripping storyline from beginning to end.

loved this book as well. going on to next Gregg Hurwitz book. love this author. he captivates you so that you can't put it down. it keeps you guessing right from the beginning. he captures your emotions as if you are the main character and must come up with a plan to overcome the multiple protagonists.

Was determined to finish this

Odd story. A real reach and I’m a usual fan of this author. Tediously over descriptive to where I yell out loud while driving in the car, Ok! We get it! Move along!

Solid listen

Very good read. The author has some original twists in a genre where that isn't often easy. Although some of the plot is predictable, it isn't the predictable read that so many others are. Certainly worth the credit.

Can't Put It Down

I loved this story. Just when I thought the book was tying up loose ends and beginning to end, the nail biting started all over again!

Scott Brick made the story come alive. With voice tone and inflection, I felt the fear. Scott's name should be Mr. Butter - smooth and dreamy. I've heard him on several other books and he doesn't disappoint.

This book is a must listen too on audible!

Really enjoyed this book.

Any additional comments?

I found this book very entertaining. Gregg Horowitz is an excellent writer. He is smart, insightful and creates great suspenseful and addictive stories without the need for gratuitous gore. I also appreciate how much he values and appreciates women and relationships. He is very open-minded and creative with his characters - for example, one of my favorites was the lesbian detective who was also a single mother. I do not understand the negative reviews of this book. I would highly recommend it as I would all of Gregg Horowitz's books that feature Scott Brick as the narrator. It's a killer combination.

A must read

If I could, I'd give this book six stars. I had the audio of it and it was very good. The reader was fantastic and so was the story. Kept me guessing until the very end. I will read more of this authors books for sure!
