    "Great Autheor and Narrator Discovery..."

Bought this on the recommendation of a Sunday New York Times book review as a great "summer read". Strong storyline, believeable characters, contemporary theme (Iraq, Wall Street), punchy yet believeable dialogue, well paced, and one terrific narrator in Sean Barrett! Kudos all around.

    "TOP NOTCH THRILLER"
Would you listen to The Wreckage again? Why?

ABSOLUTELY. I think Michael Robotham is one of our BEST mystery writers. Impossible for me to understand any reviews that were not outstanding....he is a master of unpredictable intrigue and endings. I literally had to force myself to take a break from this spellbinding read. After reading Suspect, narrated by Simon Prebble, I suspected it would be difficult to listen to another narrator....I was wrong, Sean Barrett was unbeatable. I'm looking forward to Robotham's 'LOST" as my next book....I can't get enough of him.

    "His other books are better"

This book was sort of "disjointed". Although we have the same characters Psychologist Joe O'Laughlin and the retired police detective, the plot is hard to follow. Actually it really does not make that much sense. It involves money being stolen from Iraq banks so of course we have the arab terrorists, double crossing CIA agents and your other usual characters including the beautiful arab girl. I would say it is not a "terrible" book but the others from this author are much better. I preferred Shatter and Bomb Proof. If you have not listened to those start there first. If you don't like those than you won't like this. The narration of all these books quite good.

    "Mediocre"

The publisher’s dust jacket blurb about “The Wreckage: A Thriller,” by Michael Robotham, was more thrilling than the book itself. The premise of the story was good enough, but the author’s technique of telling separate stories in London and Baghdad, which took way too long to coalesce, made the book mediocre at best. By the time Robotham got to the point, I had ceased to care. The reader was okay.

    "Great Listen"
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend this book for the story. I'd also look for more books by this author and narrator.

"it all comes down to money"
What made the experience of listening to The Wreckage the most enjoyable?

seeing, through the writer's eyes, life in a troubled country

What did you like best about this story?

I liked the way the three(or was it four)different stories, told separately, come together, and how each character in that story work together to get to a solution

What does Sean Barrett bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

as usual great narration that helps add a 3d effect to the characters, that I don't get by reading them on a page

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

not an extreme reaction, no, but parts of it did make me cry

    "Not His Best!"
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

This one was not his best. I have listened to several other books by Michael Robotham and have enjoyed them completely. This one I had a hard time following and it was quite boring. I kept hoping it would get better but it never did. Please skip this one!!!

    "Wreckage is a Wreck"

I've listened to 5 other Robotham's audiobook and they were fine but this was a wreck. Don't waste your time and money.
