I couldn't put this book down!!

What did you love best about The Woods?

So many twists and turns. Surprises up to the end. Great story.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Paul, of course! He wasn't a perfect character... he had flaws... but he was likeable and easy to relate to.

Which character – as performed by Scott Brick – was your favorite?

Paul! Although I did enjoy the stripper who accused the frat boys of rape.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Absolutely! It was hard to turn it off.

Any additional comments?

This was my first book by Harlan Coben but I've been a huge fan of Scott Brick for a long time. I want to read more Coben!

Coben's best yet!

How far will people go to protect their family? Paul Copeland wanted to convict two young accused rapists but the odds were against him. The young men were wealthy and one of the fathers was ready to do anything to get his son off. The victim was a poor, black woman who worked as a stripper. Can a woman who works as a prostitute and stripper be raped? While pursuing this trial, Cope's past starts unraveling and family secrets are revealed. The story has a lot of intrigue, twists, and unexpected turns. The plot and characters are well developed. While listening to the story, I kept returning to the issue of ethics. Can anyone be completely ethical? The narration by Scott Brick stayed true to the characters and plot.

Good read dragged at spots

This is the first book I read by this autor since '03. I enjoyed ut but at some places it lost steam. But I percivered(sp) the ending was OK not what I expected. That is always good. Worth a read. Scott Brick, need I say more.

Great story once the pieces connected

I enjoyed the story and it kept me guessing. It was challenging to follow in the first couple chapters while characters and situations were outlines but it wrapped up quite nicely.

Another suspenseful novel.

The narration was excellent but there were too many characters and the story went on to long. Not his best book, but certainly not his worst

The story line isn't awful

Run of the mill serial killer mystery fodder. But Scott Brick reads like he's the detective in a 1940's radio mystery. So, I guess if you like that style you'll enjoy this. I really didn't. I was constantly aware of the heavy handed narration. If I'd paid more than $3.95 for it is return it

More twists than a Chubby Checker song!

I love Harlan Coben books. I have read a handful now, and I have completely enjoyed each one of them. In The Woods, Coben is once again treating the reader to a first rate thriller! The plot pacing moves briskly, and every time I thought that I had it figured out, I was wrong.

You have to love a book that gets better the further you read into it, and that is exactly what this book has to offer. The story gets more interesting and more complex as it goes, but it never gets bogged down or too big for it's own good. The mystery trying to be solved turns in to two, and then three....and so on! I loved it!

Scott Brick is a first rate narrator, and adds to the enjoyment of this book. Excellent!

One of my favorite books ever

All the characters felt real in the way they acted. Whether it was the rude thoughts they had, their funny moments or their motives, they all felt genuine. Except for the names like Muse, Cingle Shaker and Rich Devin the treasurer for the frat but I loved how transparent those names were.
