The bestselling author and creator of the hit Netflix drama The Stranger takes listeners into the heart of family loyalty in this twisty thriller that proves that the darkest secrets are often closest to home.

Paul Copeland, a New Jersey county prosecutor, is still grieving the loss of his sister twenty years ago - the night she walked into the woods, never to be seen again. But now, a homicide victim is found with evidence linking him to the disappearance. The victim could be the boy who vanished along with Paul's sister. And, as hope rises that his sister could still be alive, dangerous secrets from his family's past threaten to tear apart everything Paul has been trying to hold together....

Edge of my seat

I really enjoyed how this novel kept you on the edge of your seat and off-balance. It is a great who done it book?

Coben does it again

Once again, Harlan Coben delivers a story with twists and turns that keep you guessing until the very end. His characters and stories never disappoint. Scott Brick also does another great job of narrating. He has become my favorite narrator and I look for books that he has done.

A Good Mystery.

I really enjoyed this one. I've read a lot of reviews that have said it's not as good as some of his other novels, but this is the first of his I've read so I wouldn't know. All I know is I liked the characters, I found the plot intriguing, and I enjoyed the twist ending -even if it was mostly predictable. Bought the book on sale and it was worth it. Don't think i would've paid full price for it but I rarely do for any book. Definitely worth it if you can catch it on sale. Check it out if you like a good mystery story.

Oh. My. Goodness. This was so suspenseful!

Wow. That was so suspenseful. I loved it. Also, it was kind of torturous. I had to obsessively listen to it in the last three days to finish it. 😂

From 2007.

Times have changed since then. This is a mans man story. All the women are hot and the main character has got it going on. Very macho.

meh story but performance saves the day

another rather shallow who done it. A few nice and fairly thought provoking scenes but left me wanting more. wouldn't say I loved it but I wouldn't tell you not to read it either.

A+

One of the best I have listened to in a while. I loved this book. It does get a little graphic but that’s forgivable. It held my interest the entire time .
I highly recommend this book.

Bad audio nearly ruined this

I enjoyed the book and the clever plot. Character development was good. The audio was so annoying. Sounded like I was listening through a tin can.

Just interesting enough...

I knew what I was getting when I downloaded this audiobook- a story with an “unpredictable” twist and a mostly resolved ending. Just like all of Coben’s other books. This one had a pretty decent story that was just interesting enough to make me want to finish it. But it was hard! Scott Brick’s narration is like nails on a chalkboard to me. With every word drawn out and emphasized plus Coben’s love of adjectives and minute details, there were times I caught myself rolling my eyes and saying come on already get to the point!! If I had to, I would read another Harlan Coben book but I will not listen to another one.

"said nothing"

Oh how did that phrase get by the editors? In some cases it wasn't even true! He did say something! Ugh!
