Kept us captivated from beginning to end

If you could sum up The Woodcutter in three words, what would they be?

Gripping, Suspenseful, Satisfying

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

For such a long book to keep us riveted, we changed weekend plans to kick back and listen and really got immersed in the story.

What about Jonathan Keeble’s performance did you like?

LOVE Jonathan Keeble's performance in this book. His distinctive voice and characterizations really made the book come to life. Definitely one of our favorite narrators.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Of course, but telling would give things away!

Any additional comments?

Reginald Hill will be greatly missed, truly one of the master storytellers. He loved the English language and knew how to turn a phrase and conjure up images that will stay in your mind for a long time. Definitely marking this as a "read-again-and-again"!

I can find nothing to critisise. I found myself reading this book at 2.30 AM, hard to put down. I will look for both the author and the narrator in future.
Five stars all round, the only way to rate this book

Movies Along

Nice plot, but climax way too "cinematic!" (Why does every good mystery writer aspire to write for the movies?

This one is not up to the Andy & Pasco series, but still worth the listen!

Well Done!

Story was great, narrator up to the task. Imagine the worst thing you could be accused of and not being able to disprove it.

Couldn't stop listening

Really liked this book. I appreciated the quality of the reader and the narrative; the pace of the story- both reading and narrative; as well as the way it dealt with class issues among the characters.
