Interesting wild ride.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes. This is departure for me from the books I normally listen to. I picked this book purely on reviews and was very pleased. I found it to be a very entertaining listen.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Yes, got to love revenge stories.

What about Jonathan Keeble’s performance did you like?

I thought his performance was fine.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It kept me listening wanting to know what happened next. Fun book.

Any additional comments?

I will listen to this narrator again and look for more books my this author.

Fantastic !!! Wow!!

This is going in my top 5 books of all time ! I didn't want it to end! It catches you from the beginning and you can't stop listening! Lost a nights sleep! Now I'm going to go back and listen again more slowly -there's so much going on I know I missed stuff.

Excellent!

What did you love best about The Woodcutter?

The reader's voice gave life to a well written story. I listened whenever I was in my car. It was often the only thing that could make me look forward to driving to work!

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Woodcutter?

There were so many twists and turns that to list any of the memorable moments would be a spoiler!

What about Jonathan Keeble’s performance did you like?

I will look for Mr. Keeble's name as the reader on future purchases. I could listen to him read the contents on a box of cereal!!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It made me gasp more than once! I cried out a couple of times, driving down the road alone.

Good Great Average

This is the order of how I felt about the book as it went along. I liked the beginning, I loved some of the characters especially Wolf. I am confused about how I feel about the ending, was it satisfactory was it far fetched I am not sure. I recommended this book to a friend, but now I am not 100% sure. Some of the reviewers said it was a great book which it was but not all the way through. Do the great parts make it worth it? Yes for me it was because of the middle.

surprisingly well crafted, most pleasant readim

less cumbersome read than
le Carre, but very satisfying just the same. I'm encountering a broader selection of audio books, and hope the selection continues at fast pace. audio encourages a 2nd read of a fine book, effortless while I labor at something mind numbing. all in all, I am now
an avid supporter of this miracle of electronics that may salvage the written word and communication
through language.

I CLAPPED WHEN I FINISHED IT

This has been the BEST listen I have had so far. I thought that The Help was amazing, then Branaugh's reading of The Heart of Darkness blew me away. Reginal Hill delivers a variety of easily identifiable characters in what might otherwise be a complex book to understand. I was hooked from the beginning, although I did re-listen to the first few chapters to be sure I understood the groudwork and characters. If you want a wonderfully involved cast and even more interesting subplots listen to this book. I think it would be better than ever reading it!

Wonderful characters, wonderful read.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Wolf, of course. Resilient, clever, brave - I may be in love.

What about Jonathan Keeble’s performance did you like?

Excellent reader, rich, distinct performances that create a clear image of each character without going over the top. Everything he does calls attention to the writing, not the reader.

Any additional comments?

Chose this book because one critic compared Stuart MacBride to Reginald Hill. Being a mad hungry MacBride fan I had to give it a try and wasn't disappointed. Sad to hear that this was Hill's last book before he passed, but thrilled to know that he left behind dozens of books to explore. Starting the very first book now. What a find!

Absolutely. I'd like others to experience the depth of character development and narrative.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Alva because of her naiveté mixed with intellect.

What does Jonathan Keeble bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Unbelievable range of accents and voices bring the story to life.

It's a compelling read/listen.

What did you love best about The Woodcutter?

The non-linearity in storyline, woven so beautifully. There were parts which I could not figure on first read, and was reminded of context way down the storyline. Also, the characters are complex, rich and vivid.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Oh yes !
