Publisher's Summary

Griffin's popular Badge of Honor police series returns, with a story of murder and lawlessness as compelling as today's headlines.

Homicide Sergeant Matthew Payne is used to murder, but lately there's been an awful lot of it in Philadelphia. A gangland shooting in a popular tourist location has left six dead, most of them innocent bystanders, and days later the body of a headless Latina turns up in the Schuykill River. Everybody assumes they're not related, but Payne can't shake the hunch that there's something more to it - and that hunch leads him far from the City of Brotherly Love to the Texas - Mexico border. There, he finds a world where the lines of law and order are murkier than he ever imagined possible, and the daily question is " O Plato o Plomo?" Silver or lead. Cash or death.

Which will Matt Payne take? Or will he just go home, glad to be alive . . . ?

Filled with authentic color and detail, this is a riveting novel of the men and women who put their lives on the line, from the cop on the beat to the commissioner himself. It's a story of fears, dangers, courage, loyalty, and genuine heroism: storytelling at its best.

"Griffin books are a favorite... Brick is a brick.."
If you could sum up The Traffickers in three words, what would they be?

Judy and I enjoyed this book.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Good enough to keep us listening even late at night.

Have you listened to any of Scott Brick’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes.. Mr Brick does not mind creating the major characters in an image that may not be what the author intended.

    "Wow...great Story"

I took a chance on the Book because I normally read the 'Presidential Agent' Series. This is a very good read...I gives you an inside look on how People are acutally taken and used as a commodity. ENLIGHTENING

    "Decent Story"

Not much of a climax at the end of the story and parts just drag on unnecessarily. If you're a WEB Griffin fan then I'd recommended, if not listen to some older Griffin books, he's done better.

If I want to hear a rant on the 2nd amendment I will listen to Fox News.
The reader should try to be less melodramatic. Every word should not make me want to cry.
Perhaps the co-author contributed to the lesser quality story than the others in this series.
I won't listen to the reader again. If his name appears as "read by ", I won't listen.

"That's the most mixed up bla bla bla ever"
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

This was a joke I love and have read all W.E.B Griffin books some more than once!
But this book was lazy, his son needs to get a different job! Bad really bad , I did not Finnish.

What could W. E. B. Griffin have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

He could have read it! And told his son to write it over and stick to some form of a draft.

    Which scene was your favorite?

    Absolutely none!,,

What character would you cut from The Traffickers?

How about sticking with one story ,not jumbling all nonsense in on book!

    Any additional comments?

I recommend reading all W.E.B GRIFFIN BOOKS THEY ARE GREAT!
Stay away from His sons lazy scrawl !

    "Disappointed"

This is the first WEB Griffen book that I did not enjoy. I feel the violence was way overdone to the point that it gave me nightmares. I realize that this was a collaboration, but I would like to warn future readers of the gratuitous violence.

    "The Traffickers"

I got hooked on the By The President Orders series, So I purchased the book even though it had bad reviews, I shoud have learned, this has a slow drawn out plot that wanders all over and ends with a wimper. Character are over developed at the expense of the Plot. I'm a fan of Scott Brick, but he could not save this book. Buyer Beware.

"Really disappoing for a Griffin fan."
What disappointed you about The Traffickers?

This is a pretty good novella that was stretched into a novel with entirely too much filler. The shooting scene exiting the hospital is repeated at least four times, (seems like a hundred) and other meaningless details drone on and on. Scott Brick, as always, does an excellent job with unfortunately very poor material. My son and I are real Griffin fans, and I have read all of his series' more than once. Sure do hope this particular book is not an example of what to expect in the future.

What was most disappointing about W. E. B. Griffin???s story?

The actual storyline is fairly short. Unfortunately, all of the oft repeated filler material dominates the book.

What does Scott Brick bring to the story that you wouldn???t experience if you just read the book?

Brick brings the characters to life. I can visualize Matt Payne and each of the others as they move through the story.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Traffickers?

Some repetition is necessary to emphasize a particular segment or scene in any book, but the constant repetition and minute details in this book actually get boring.

    Any additional comments?

I hope Griffin reverts to his previous writing style. He remains overall (despite this bomb) my favorite author.
