Publisher's summary

The world is on the brink of disaster. Iran has just conducted its first atomic weapons test. Millions of Muslims around the world are convinced their messiah — known as the Twelfth Imam — has arrived on earth. Israeli leaders fear Tehran, under the Twelfth Imam’s spell, will soon launch a nuclear attack that could bring about a second Holocaust and the annihilation of Israel. The White House fears Jerusalem will strike first, launching a massive preemptive attack against Iran’s nuclear facilities that could cause the entire Middle East to go up in flames, oil prices to skyrocket, and the global economy to collapse. With the stakes high and few viable options left, the president of the United States orders CIA operative David Shirazi and his team to track down and sabotage Iran’s nuclear warheads before Iran or Israel can launch a devastating first strike. But will they be too late?

I'm not "offended", by the way.

It is not necessary for you to warn us atheists/agnostics away from a book that contains Christian sentiments. You don't have to protect us or risk us becoming "offended" and burning down the nearest church. Yes, as a nonreligious person, I like to be aware of a book's religious agenda. Not because I'm a liberal who hates God, or that I'm offended by the very name of Jesus, etc., or any of the other things said to make us seem irrationally sensitive. Its because most religion seems goofy to me, and so might a book with filled with religious dogma. I would feel the same way about a talking unicorn entering the story, and I assure you, talking unicorns don't offend me. I enjoyed the first book immensely, and the second book was just as enjoyable. Christopher Lane's narration is fantastic! Strong yet so soothing. I recommend this book, and the series, wholeheartedly.

Engrossing Story - Exceptional Performance

Rosenberg tells a great story with engaging characters and a taught plot line. But Christopher Lane’s reading performance absolutely makes this book (and the whole series)! His accents, inflections, and the tone of his narration are spot on, and they add great depth and realism to the story. I will definitely look for more of his work in future audiobook purchases.

Exciting!

This is so good. When our main character, David, goes back into Iran, knowing the dangers if he is found out, it is riveting. I held my breath in anticipation of what could be. I don't know if I would be that brave. I am so glad that there will be another book and can't wait to listen to it! Joel C. Rosenberg hits the nail on the head when he presents this as a war of Principalities.

Riveting, well researched. Understand your enemy and take time to learn what God says about these times. Loved this book!

Exciting!

Very good narration, exciting and somewhat frightening storyline. If Iran's nuclear program is disturbing to you, this might give you a sleepless night. Will definitely read more by this author.

The Real Initiative

I am a Rosenberg fan... and have a relationship with Christ, But I could not rate this book as high as I would like to have because I thought it was a tad to much proselytizing which almost made me want to stop listening. It's like pouring too much gravy over mash potato's where you can't hardly taste the potatoes. A Taste is all you need. The rest of the story was fabulous and very engaging especially because of the superb narration by Lee. I do plan on listening to the next book and hope there's less gravy.
