Publisher's summary

The world is on the brink of disaster. Iran has just conducted its first atomic weapons test. Millions of Muslims around the world are convinced their messiah — known as the Twelfth Imam — has arrived on earth. Israeli leaders fear Tehran, under the Twelfth Imam’s spell, will soon launch a nuclear attack that could bring about a second Holocaust and the annihilation of Israel. The White House fears Jerusalem will strike first, launching a massive preemptive attack against Iran’s nuclear facilities that could cause the entire Middle East to go up in flames, oil prices to skyrocket, and the global economy to collapse. With the stakes high and few viable options left, the president of the United States orders CIA operative David Shirazi and his team to track down and sabotage Iran’s nuclear warheads before Iran or Israel can launch a devastating first strike. But will they be too late?

It's great fiction with a "hidden" message.

This is an interesting way to push Christianity. Jesus is good, Muslim beliefs are evil, Jews are just Jews. The story flows fast and is hard to put down, but the real intent is to proselytize Jesus. It's all too compartmentalized for my taste. If you read it with the understanding that the author is a great fiction writer, it starts to just be fun.

Great book!

What made the experience of listening to The Tehran Initiative the most enjoyable?

The most enjoyable part of listening to this book was the desire to continue. The author does a great job at writing the story lin.

Any additional comments?

A little disappointed because I thought there would be an ending to the first book The Twelfth Imam. That's okay because I'll purchase the next book in the series.

Good listen but wrong classification.

Audible needs to be more up-front in their discreption of this novel and lable it as "Religous/Thriller Fiction" or, even more precise, as "Christian/Thriller Fiction". Story interesting (although even as a thriller only the first quarter of the book would qualify as such) but very preachy!! The review by Audible should give potential listeners a heads-up that this book is an attemp to recruit the listner to Christianity. Nothing wrong with that if the listener has knowledge that is what they are getting but don't treat your customers so dishonestly!

Love Joel Rosenberg

Where does The Tehran Initiative rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I've read a lot of books, but it is certainly up there in ranking in the fiction category.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

It was a very entertaining 'listen'.

Excellent presentation and storyline

I enjoyed the book immensely and would give it 5 stars overall except there were a few times that it seemed to drag on too long. This is the first book I read/listened to by Rosenberg and it was an unexpected delight.

I enjoy reading a good spy novel to beak up the many business type books that I read and it is refreshing to listen to a book that isn't filled with sex and cussing every other sentence. There is a few plays on romance but isn't life filled with it? However, it isn't sex filled nor innuendos.

As others stated, it is filled with religious discussion but so is the middle east. Therefore, I believe it is very appropriate in a book dealing with the constant conflict taking place in the middle east.

I recommend this book and unlike many other 'spy' novels would not hesitate to give this to a younger reader.

President Jackson is Alive and Ruling in America!

There is a reason 15% of 1.5 billion Muslims are radicalized (225 million) and fervent to "push Israel into the sea."
The reason is Islam.
Saudi Arabia money and the Mullahs teachings are that the poverty, pain, and misery of the people they rule are as a result of Israel and America--a type of blame shifting practiced by Hitler and the Nazis.
Joel Rosenberg rightly espouses that Christ Jesus (Christianity) teaches us to love the sinner but hate the sin. "The Tehran Initiative" gives us an insiders look at "that other religion."

Review

Over the top on religious dogma in my opinion. as I am a free thinker. Great story very relevant to the time and attitude of most western leaders seems to be a lot of Neville chamberlains out there .don't they know any history .

Great Book. Loved the story. Good follow up.

Would you listen to The Tehran Initiative again? Why?

Yes it was a good story. Kept you going from start to finish. Might not prove as interesting if you haven't read the 12th Imam but probably could stand up on its own. I love how Rosenberg is able to make a story of this type and is able to almost predict tomorrows headlines. Really great Book. The Narrator is also very skilled as well. Tells the story well.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Tehran Initiative?

There are many. I'm afraid to give away story line. So many situations that are a mix of faith and technology and intrigue that I will not say more.

What does Christopher Lane bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He was able to create characters with his voice that I might not have created with my mind. The accents and nuances might have been missed by me had I read it.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

I would have to say it is the conclusion to the 12th Imam. If you saw the 12th Imam you must see this. The middle east jumps to life in this book.
