Publisher's Summary

In a nondescript office building in suburban Maryland, the firm Hendley Associates does a profitable business in stocks, bonds, and international currencies, but its true mission is quite different: to identify and locate terrorist threats, and then deal with them, in whatever manner necessary. Established with the knowledge of President John Patrick Ryan, "the Campus" is always on the lookout for promising new talent, its recruiters scattered throughout the armed forces and government agencies...and three men are about to cross its radar.

The first is Dominic Caruso, a rookie FBI agent, barely a year out of Quantico, whose decisive actions resolve a particularly brutal kidnap/murder case. The second is Caruso's brother, Brian, a Marine captain just back from his first combat action in Afghanistan, and already a man to watch. And the third is their cousin...a young man named Jack Ryan, Jr.

Jack was raised on intrigue. As his father moved through the ranks of the CIA and then into the White House, Jack received a life course in the world and the way it operates from agents, statesmen, analysts, Secret Service men, and black ops specialists such as John Clark and Ding Chavez. He wants to put it all to work now, but when he knocks on the front door of "the Campus," he finds that nothing has prepared him for what he is about to encounter. For it is indeed a different world out there, and in here. And it is about to become far more dangerous.

    "The Teeth of the Tiger"

I love Clancy, and this book would be very good if it were not abridged. The Problem with Clancy on Audible is the abridgments simply cut out too much of the book. They are left hollow and choppy and simply don't work. Very disappointed. Please Mr. Clancy, give Audible unabridged versions of your books!

    "The Teeth of the Tiger"

This book was very captivating, the characters well understood and their focus and motivation are well received and shared.

If this Audio version has one thing wrong it is the abrupt end to the story. Now I have to go out and find the hardcover to see if this is how the story actually ends. I hope NOT!

If you are a Tom Clancy fan, as am I, you may not find this to be his best work, however, given the topic and its timeliness; this will draw you into the world of "what if", where Tom Clancy is the reigning king.

    "Huge Clancy Fan here"

I thought the book was read well and the story line was great. I guess the only issue I had was it seemed to end to early and left the listener feeling like they left oout the last two chapters of the story

    "The Ending?"

I couldn't believe it was over. It really leaves you hanging. Clancy wrote this simply for a spring board to more books. I was disappointed.

    "Ok, but not great"

Good Clancy style and the beginnings of some interesting characters. But this story is just too simple. No twists, no turns, no harrowing escapes.

    "Is Clancy out of ideas?"

This is by far the worst book I've read in the last few years. I used to love Clancy, but apparently he does not trust himself anymore to create an interesting character, so he makes a clumsy recycling of Jack Ryan. The premise is so flawed as to be laughfable. Even mere readers like me know that the number one skill that an undercover agent cultivates is to blend in with the background. So Clancy gives us twins, which by nature will stand out; and the son of the former President of the US. The funny part is that nobody seems to recognize him. It's like if we sent Chelsea Clinton to do an intelligence operation and nobody recognized her. The most grating part is the dialogue between twins. I swore that if I heard the word "bro" one more time, I was going to throw up. The worst part, however is that he cheats the readers by stopping the story half-way with the obvious intention of selling another book. Shame on you, Tom! I might buy his books again someday, but not until he puts this series to a merciful end.

    "Gore but no excitement"

The abridgement kept the gore of the murders, but other than the scene in the mall, very little of these 5 hours were captivating. There was no real suspense, either. It just seemed like a hunt-down-and-kill them; even there it seemed cold and lacked any emotional perspective. I'm a Clancy fan; this was a very weak book or abridgement. In fact, it was weak enough that I'm not curious enough to look at the full book to see if it is better.

    "A great Disappointment"

This is an example of an author just "phoning in" a script. The plot is absurd, and the ending was simply a break in the script. Skip this dog.

    "Who wrote this trash?"

This certainly doesn't read like or sound like a Tom Clancy novel. It was chopped up and difficult to follow and the characters were totally unbelievable. What drivel. The entire thing read like it was a basic outline for a movie script, not a complete novel. Awful, awful, awful. The basic idea for the story has possibilities but Clancy didn't make use of them. I'm a big Clancy fan but I'll be very hesitant to buy another of his books.

    "too predictable"

It goes, but it doesn't turn or twist. Not up to his usual.
