Publisher's summary

President Jesse Wood has a mission for Christian Gillette: post-Communist Cuba. There are secret negotiations going on with senior capitalists in Cuba concerning the U.S., and the president wants Gillette to handle it. It is clear, however, that if the discussions ever came to light, the trail cannot lead back to the Oval Office.

Seeing no option but to accept the dangerous mission, Gillette heads to Florida with best friend and bodyguard Quentin Stiles, leaving his capable and alluring protege, Allison Wallace, in charge of Everest. They are soon 1,000 miles apart and both in grave danger - and now they aren't able to help each other to survive.

confusing.

i did like the story. It kept me thinking. But I wish the narrator would take a breath between story lines.

Great plot twists, kept me engaged 👍

I liked the pace, no boring soliloquy’s…multiple plots running concurrently, A few surprises, plus a nice ending!

Shocking

Spoiler alert!….. I am disappointed that a main character which the author has been trying to kill off since the first book made it happen😕

This story is dumb..

The premise of this story was a good one, but the story line doesn’t add up. Chris runs multi-billion dollar deals and he falls for a younger woman who obviously has another agenda? I want to see how it ends but I’m fast forwarding the dumb parts.

Successor

The reader lacked animation and at times was monologue. Story line was a good one.

Enjoyed the series

The four books with Gillette as the main character were enjoyable to listen to. The first book, The Chairman, was clearly the best. This last book, The Successor, was probably the worst of the series. All in all, worth the credits and would recommend the entire series for anyone who enjoyed The Chairman.

Anti-Climatic ending

This is a terrific story - well written and performed. It kept you wanting to listen more - - until the end. It’s almost like someone else wrote the last few pages, didn’t have the excitement found on every other page. Instead of feeling ‘That was a great read’ I thought ‘That’s it??’ I even went back to see if I had missed something, but no, not a great end

Interesting story

Enjoyed this story and the familiar characters. I hadn’t realized this was a series. Let’s see what Christian gets into next.

A Really Enjoyable Series

This book was hard to stop listening to so it deserves five stars. This is my third book in the series and I enjoyed them all. Definitely worth a credit. Highly recommended
