A must read!

In the beginning, I struggled a little to understand the characters, but it finally fell into place. This book was gripping from the start to the end. It's a true must read!

Good as the dickins!

Very good book for sure. So hard to read at times because of just how terrible it was for the Jews during WW2. Super creative in the separate stories all coming together in the end.

Sad but Great

Great Historical fiction of the Holocaust seen from a young girls view. At times very hard to listen to due to the degree of harshness detailed from Auchwitz, but overall tempered well with current day love story and deeper philosophical questions that make the reader think. The reader was A+, the character development and storyline were terrific- So well written i was sad when it was over but also relieved that good things can come from such horror. I highly recommend this book!

I gave it 5 stars

You could see the ending coming but it was a great winding of stories. The very ending was a little weak. I will try another book by the author (Picoult). I did enjoy the many voices of the narration.

Must read!!

What a wonderfully written book. I loved how all the characters were connected.

The story jumps back and forth from present day to World War II in Poland. The detail provided and the story developed shot the nazi reign and abide of Jews was just heart wrenching.

The book starts off a little slow, but picks up pace quickly. You will not want to stop listening!!

Beautifully written & narrated!!

Jodi Picoult painted pictures with words through Minka's character. Compelling, enrapturing, and absolutely heartbreaking at times.

I loved everything about this audio book. The story will influence how I view ethical dilemmas in the future.

The book shows me how it is possible to convince good people to believe bad things through lies and preying on weaknesses and using opportunity. It is a great book to read during the political times the USA is experiencing now. To remind us that truth may be elusive and is very personal.

Unique story with great narration

I thought the use of several narrators was perfect in this story. Jodi Picoult is fast becoming one of my favorite contemporary authors.
