Great Banned Book!

Thank you Jodi for this amazing work of art. We can never forget. Kind of interesting how a book that’s about the Nazi’s is banned but you know that already. We need to keep fighting for the right of free speech. Thank you for all you do to protect our freedom.

All 5’s capturing tale

Well written, Minka really had me pulled in the most. The characters were well developed. I was slightly confused at times but that’s just me. I didn’t find grammas story of fiction capturing but that wasn’t the point of the story. Grandma minkas really story was shocking and I couldn’t put down. It really put humanity into perspective. It was realistic, for example the trauma responses. I did see the end coming because sometimes I am clever. I don’t have any real complaints about this one.

This and the Nightingale

One of the best books I’ve ever read. It was not only a fantastic nazi story - it made you really think twice about the people and minds trapped during that time. On both the “good and bad” sides….

Simply beautiful.

Great story, did not see the ending coming!

This was a well written book that does a really good job of guiding the reader through the nuances of good vs evil. I usually enjoy Jodi Picoult and this was an excellent book of hers.

Stay with it!

I had my doubts at the beginning because it seemed like there were two or three stories going on at the same time and I could not wrap my head around it. But once I understood what was going on, I could not put the book down. A great story and very good narration.

Compelling look at history

The movement between the past and the present weaves this into a poignant and unexpected story of love, loss and redemption. Incredibly brave look at history and the Holocaust. The performances were stellar.

Good

Very good. Better than I expected. I put off this book for a long time assuming it wasn’t going to be any good. How wrong I was.
