Publisher's summary

Another thrilling adeventure from the number-one New York Times best-selling author. Clive Cussler's tales of the Oregon and its crew -"the clever, indefatigable Juan Cabrillo and his merry band of tough, tech-savvy fighting men and women" (Publishers Weekly) - have made fans of hundreds of thousands of readers and listeners. But the Oregon's sixth adventure is its most remarkable one yet.

On December 7, 1941, five brothers exploring a shaft on a small island off the coast of Washington State make an extraordinary discovery, only to be interrupted by news of Pearl Harbor. In the present, Cabrillo, chasing the remnants of a crashed satellite in the Argentine jungle, stumbles upon a shocking revelation of his own. His search to untangle the mystery leads him, first, to that small island and its secret, and then much farther back, to an ancient Chinese expedition - and a curse that seems to have survived for more than 500 years. If Cabrillo's team is successful in its quest, the reward could be incalculable. If not, the only reward is death.

Take another thrilling voyage with the Oregon Files.

I love this series. The only bad thing is...

I have always enjoyed the Juan Cabrio series. The only bad thing is, the book has to come to an end! Even though Juan is a "nearly perfect" character, I still find him interesting, and someone I enjoy following, as well as his crew. In this book we find out some more details of one of his shipmates, and that just made the story sweeter. I also love the ship they use for their dangerous missions. I won't say more or it will ruin it for new readers.

the Silent Sea

am enjoying the Oregon series as much as I have each of Clive Cussler's series. I knew Juan could not be dead and loved the way Clive ended this tale!

Always good

I think the stories about the Oregon would make a great action series. Action , intrigue, and wonder!

Very Believable

Having been alive for the Falkland's conflict, I could easily believe that the events espoused in "The Silent Sea" are more than fiction. Great story.

Another Fun Ride With The Oregon

While not one of the most memorable Cussler adventure, it was still a fun listen. Cussler fans will find it very formulaic with reality stretched beyond all limits.

But Scott Brick’s reading and great characters pull it through.
