Publisher's summary

A key DEA agent has been kidnapped by drug runners. As much as the news angers Presidential Agent Castillo, he thinks there’s no way he could get permission to rescue the man. But Castillo’s wrong - the President himself orders Castillo to do anything it takes to bring back the agent...anything except get caught.

Too much fill

Too many areas of the book where content was added just to fill the book. The fill made the book seem "production lined".

To slow

I like Web but the more books he writes the slower they get. listen to 16 hours of audio book to get one hour of action. So much time wasted on detales that dont have anything to do with the plot.

Politics and Shooters

Next in the series, found myself enjoying the character development. The book also seemed to do a good job at Washington politics enmeshed in the times. There is engagement with "the president" always an unnamed character. That's good, I think, because it doesn't engage the political persuasions of the reader: "he would never do that!" And keeps the reader in the adventure. I'll take a break, if I can, before going on to book number four.

Half of the book is a recap ofthe previous books

I love the idea of this book series, but I hate listening to the recap of the previous book for the first 2 hours + of this short 18 hour book.

Dick Hill gives a great performance 5/5!

tedious

This book content-wise was kinda cool.
Narration sucked rocks! This guys cannot keep his character voices straight and accents were pretty bad.
Compound that with a VERY slow moving book and this makes for a tedious listen. I have been trying to finish it but after 12 hours I am having a hard time.
I know this author is good, I have read his stuff before. it just felt like he was trying too hard to draw this one out.

Rip Off

What would have made The Shooters better?

It was just a rehash of previous stories and people. I am surprised such a poor book was written by a author I had admired. When reading it I felt he must need the money and is just burnt out.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Rambling Man

I am just beat ,whipped, dog tired! By shear will alone I made it to the end of this book. For hours and hours the characters talked and talked about getting this DEA agent back and finally in the last 20 minutes they did! Dick Hill is a great narrator but how he made it through all the convoluted prattle is amazing since there were whole chapters of chatter that added absolutely nothing to the story line. My 3 Stars are for Mr Hill's endurance!

What in God's name happened here??????

I am a huge fan of W.E.B. Griffin's work; but this one was awful. I lost track of the plot during during one of the many "back stories." This was way to long on history and short on action. I truly how "Black Ops" is better.

Drags!

I have to agree with the majority of the other reviews--this draaaaaaaged. Charlie runs around telling everyone he meets about his "secret" mission, rather than actually going on his mission! Then, when he finally does, it's pretty much anticlimatic. Lots of talking, very little action. Hope the next book is better!
