I absolutely love my audible account, makes its from enjoying a book to loving the stories found in the books. Do forgive my errors in the reviews i do have dyslexia but i will share my love with everyone
Being able to close your eyes, use your imagination and let your mind create all the special effects is amazing.
How the shadow is able to outsmart everyone is amazing, but you know in the end he will live
I like scifi and urban fantasy. I don't like romance novels. If you are the same my reviews should help.
This is a great walk down memory lane. Sure the stories are pretty thin and the characters are two dimensional, but hey it's the SHADOW! No one better voiced the shadow than Orson Welles. This is like a really fun time capsule. I love listening to these when I have to drive at night. These are fun stories with all the comercials incuded which is a nice touch. If you like the old Shadow serials you will definitely enjoy this one.
The incredible writing of the plots and scripts along with the amazing voice actors made this an awsome listening experience, can't wait to hear more!
Lamont Cranston/The Shadow is an amazingly well concieved character.
The narrator adds a real flow to the show along with the included historical advertisements, a real classic mystery flavor ebs throughout each episode, he adds more than a real sense of story, and he has a natural way in which his tidbits of narration further the action without over taking the acting. Great narration!
Each episode made me want to hear another.
Awsome collection, I am glad I purchased it even thought I already owned a few of the episodes in single format, well worth it for the new content alone!
the authenic voices with the greate narration
none at the moment
i enjoyed even the comercial that came in with the Shadow.....It took me to a time, where there were no tv just the radio shows.....it made my imagination soar.......
The plot and character development are at the level of Scooby Doo and Inspector Gadget; there are many better-written modern stories out there. However, you can feel the innocence of the age in the writing (which comes with a solid dose of that age's sexism, unfortunately). What my wife and I found almost as interesting as the stories was that these recordings include the original radio advertisements, which is fascinating for anyone interested in media culture.
