This is a beautifully crafted story in every way. I recommend it for all age groups. I identified and cares about all characters. I could not stop listening and highly recommend it.

CC Wilkes you had me at hello!
Best book in forever! This story of a 16 year old who is seduced into assisting with a kidnapping with a terrible, unexpected outcome had me on pins and needles. I literally had to stop listening several times due to anxiety! I was on the edge of my seat and there were many unexpected turns. Totally not what I expected in this book. Diane Chamberlain is definitely my new favorite author.

Great book! Just get through the beginning
I felt like this book started off so slow. But looking back, there was lots of reasons as to why. Stick with it. Once the kidnapping happens it’s hard to put down after. Very well played with the different twist. Well written to feel all the emotions.

Very capturing story!

keeps you interested with twist and turns

Another Great Diane Chamberlain Novel
CeeCee Wilkes is 16 and in love with her older boyfriend. When he comes up with a plan to kidnap the governor's wife in order to try to free his sister from prison, CeeCee agrees to go along with his plan. However, the plan starts to derail when CeeCee finds out that the governor's wife is pregnant and her life and the life of the unborn baby are thrust into CeeCee's hands. I won't give away any more details in order to save the surprises for anyone choosing to read this.
As always, Diane Chamberlain weaves a story filled with twists and turns that keeps you captivated. This is a fast paced story spanning close to 30 years. There is never a dull moment and the last few moments reveal a deep revelation that was impossible to see coming!
