Another classic Alexander McCall Smith story!

If you could sum up The Saturday Big Tent Wedding Party in three words, what would they be?

Grace finally marries!

What other book might you compare The Saturday Big Tent Wedding Party to and why?

Those in the series of the Number 1 Ladies Detective Series

What about Lisette Lecat’s performance did you like?

Her accent is spot on and those difficult to pronounce names just slide off her tongue.

Any additional comments?

Smith's gentle characters never disapoint- with enough intrigue to keep you hooked and lots of familiar characters to keep you coming back for more.

Not his best work...

I didn't hate it, it was ok. Not the best work his has done but if you like the no. 1 Ladies Detective series it is worth the credit. These characters become like friends if you have read all the books so it was nice to check in with them.

wonderful as usual!

Another great relaxing story of the Batswana people, and daily life of the #1 Ladies detective agency. I especially enjoy the regular characters, and how they handle their everyday problems, as well as the solving of a great mystery. HBO has produced a few episodes of this series as well..

Love this series!

What did you love best about The Saturday Big Tent Wedding Party?

I love the gentle picture it portrays of Precious's life and work. She's interesting without being dashing and it reminds me of something like a Jane Austen or Agatha Christie work with the detail and pictures of Botswana life.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I loved this book and bought ALL of the audio books in the series. I'm only sorry that I have to wait until a new one comes out to hear the rest of the story!

Any additional comments?

The narrator is perfect; she brings all of the characters to life without out being intrusive.

Another delightful gift from Smith and Lecat!

Lisette Lecat is delightful with that charming voice.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

He is not an edge of the seat author.

Have you listened to any of Lisette Lecat’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have heard many of her performances, and they are perfect for his books.

Any additional comments?

I am a loyal reader of the Botswana series. They just make you feel good. I have read some but prefer listening to these books.

No 1 Ladies do it again

Where does The Saturday Big Tent Wedding Party rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

The No. 1 Ladies are always an enjoyable, easy listen. Good when I need something light and fast moving.

What other book might you compare The Saturday Big Tent Wedding Party to and why?

This is a rather unique type of story. The other books about the No 1 Ladies, including this one, fit into their own category. The way of thinking, attitudes and culture are delightful.

Have you listened to any of Lisette Lecat’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I can't imagine anyone else reading these stories after I have heard her performance.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

There are many places when the attitudes of the characters have a strong impact.

Any additional comments?

I hope the cultural aspects are correct. I find it charming and I find myself rethinking attitudes.

More of the same wonderful stories...

Much more involved detection is involved this time, and Mma Makutsi ... finally... gets married.
More shoe stories, just more of the stories from Botswana..And... the tiny white van......again, makes an appearance.
As usual, Lisette Lecat IS these tales! They could not exist without her!

Maa Ramotswe does it again

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes. Now I've read all 12 books. Suspenseful and funny. I've enjoyed learning about Botswana from the perspective of one who lives in and loves Botswana. I was happy to learn the pronunciation of the words which were unknown to me before.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Saturday Big Tent Wedding Party?

The way Mma Potoquani pushed herself into organizing the whole wedding relieving Mma Makutsi of a tremendous task.

Which character – as performed by Lisette Lecat – was your favorite?

Mma Ramotswe

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It made me laugh.

Any additional comments?

I love the talking shoes. Priceless!

At last she Married

As anticipated ... excellent as we travel with Precious and Grace Makutsi in their endeavours to keep Boswana as it should be.
Lisette Lecat as usual performs to perfection. I hope there are many many more stories.
