I enjoy both Fiction and Non Fiction Books. Not having the best of eye sight, Audible books are a bonus. Great stuff.

"Yet another Court Room classic by John Grisham"
Would you listen to The Runaway Jury again? Why?

I'd absolutely listen to it again because I enjoyed it so much. Grisham seems to have a knack at keeping a reader interested.

What other book might you compare The Runaway Jury to and why?

The Firm, again by Grisham because I thoroughly enjoyed it!

What about William Dufris’s performance did you like?

Changes voice characteristics to suit different characters. Excellent narrator.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Made me lose sleep because I kept me listening to it far to late on work nights :)

    Any additional comments?

If you enjoy court room drama and a glimpse behind the scenes of what goes on behind Jury Room doors, then this won't disappoint. Highly recommended.

    "A terrific story"

I couldn't stop listening to this exciting courtroom drama exposing the underhand dealings of the cigarette industry as they try to influence a jury in a civil litigation trial in the US. One is never sure how the book will end as the two sides battle it out in court and behind the scenes. It's an intriguing and clever book that I whole-heartedly recommend. The reader does a splendid job of giving different voices to the 12 jurors and all the other characters who people this tour de force of a book.

    "Everybody's cheating!"

A jury has to decide whether a tobacco company is to blame for the cigarettes that killed a lady's husband. The usual arguments are put forth, nicotine is addictive, the company targets children etc etc; but everybody is being so sneaky!

The lawyers are unlawfully trapping jury family members by posing as FBI agents or bosses, they bribe and threat, while the jury itself is being manipulated from the inside. A good listen.

    Story
"OK story but not particularly memorable"

This is one of those books I'd heard of and thought I should read so I gave it a go. It was an interesting storyline as I had been a juror myself I could relate to some of the storyline. But the story felt slow in parts and in audio form it could be a bit hard to keep track of who was who in the storyline. Kept forgetting the background of the different jurors.
The last quarter of the story did to begin to grip me though and although I'd guessed the ending it was quite enjoyable to listen to it play out.
Not a book that will stick with me but not a bad listen.

    "Read it!"

You may have seen the excellent film starring Gene Hackman but the book is better and the film makers changed the plot for political reasons. A really interesting story illustrating the devious methods used to create the perfect jury for your client - which is worth reading about even without the accompanying plot. The narrator creates just the right atmosphere too - tense and slightly claustrophobic.

    "Brilliant!"

This is my second John Grisham audiobook and was beginning to think I had picked up a lemon but after half an hour I was hooked. It ended up being absolutely brilliant. That is why I have rated it 5 stars.

    Highly recommended.
