Longtime defense attorney Mickey Haller is recruited to change stripes and prosecute the high-profile retrial of a brutal child murder. After 24 years in prison, convicted killer Jason Jessup has been exonerated by new DNA evidence. Haller is convinced Jessup is guilty, and he takes the case on the condition that he gets to choose his investigator, LAPD Detective Harry Bosch.
Together, Bosch and Haller set off on a case fraught with political and personal danger. Opposing them is Jessup, now out on bail, a defense attorney who excels at manipulating the media, and a runaway eyewitness reluctant to testify after so many years.
With the odds and the evidence against them, Bosch and Haller must nail a sadistic killer once and for all. If Bosch is sure of anything, it is that Jason Jessup plans to kill again.

I can't compare, I have never seen the printed copy.
I liked Bosch, Mickey, and Maggie.. those three each have different characteristics that I like. Bosch or course is my favorite cause he doesn't take no, he is on a mission and won't stop till he is done. Mickey is a good lawyer his personality is similar to Bosch's but on the other side of the law.. and Maggie has a similar personality to my own so I can relate to her and I like that.
The emotions within the character voices that he does.
The Reversal, through the eyes of the other side.
yes....if they like mysteries that are somewhat predictable
Mickey Haller of course....Just a good guy
All of them were portrayed very well
Mickey Haller trashes his Caddy for a new DA position
It is one of the easiest to listen to because the dialogue is verily simple and most of it is written first person.
Very similar to the first two Mickey Haller books.
Not sure. The nice thing about reading a book is you create your own image of what is going on. Giles does a good job, though.
Not really. I don't this is an overly emotional book. It is just told well and is easy to follow.
Combination of Haller & Bosch characters
Makes the characters come alive
Hope there are more Haller/Bosch books
I'd listen to this book again - but not immediately. I'm a mystery/legal thriller addict and find that I can go back to many that I've enjoyed and re-listen. This is one with enough twists and interesting characters that I'll be back to it in the future.
I'm in the middle of listening to the Harry Bosch series and have become familiar with how the voices of the characters "should" sound. I liked this performance!
Defense attorney crosses the aisle to retry a "cold" child murder, makes some key mistakes, but uses the best homicide investigator to unearth new clues.
Michael Connelly has a great series with Harry Bosch!
It was a fast paced story with the usual twists and turns and Peter Giles does a great job with bringing the story to life.
Harry Bosch is always the most colorful character, however Michael Holler and Maggie McFearson run a close second to adding interest to the story.
I cannot wait for the next installment of the series!
