Nice different plot

Would you listen to The Rembrandt Affair again? Why?

I don't usually listen to a book more than once. This was such a different plot. I listen to so many books that sometimes the plots tend to run together But it was nice to have the plot different

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Yes it did I would go to bed listening to this book of course I would fall asleep and have to back it up to a chapter I would remember before dropping off to sleep.

When they were captured at the movie preview and were rescused

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes if I could stay awake. I am one of those people that get sleepy reading or listening to a book

Any additional comments?

I liked the idea of a book revolving around the old wars and war crimes and the capture of those criminals

Where does The Rembrandt Affair rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

The narration is excellent. I read all of the Silva books on my kindle and am a devoted follower of this series. Cannot wait for another book, but thought I would try the audio version to compare. Found the book was just as enjoyable while listening as when reading and it was great to have the convenience of both the ability to listen or to read.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Rembrandt Affair?

The entire book was excellent hard to pick out one incident or moment when following Gabriel Allon in his escapades/

I did not laugh or cry just another great book by Daniel Silva about one of my favorite characters.

super spy novel

Really liked this book and the way it weaved the story around the Rembrant painting. Thought provoking to say the least. The narration was excellent. It was easy to differentiate the characters foreign and gender.

Great storyline!

Love this series and can't wait to read the next one!! I am hooked on this one. Recommended to anyone liking mysteries.

Another great story by Daniel Silva. The reader has some difficulty with Hebrew words, but that can happen very easily.

Have enjoyed almost all of Daniel Silvia’s books. A good amount of history with a great tale and a positive ending.

Fast moving and lots of inside information add up to the perfect spy novel. Couldn’t recommend more.

Stop recycling material

I love the series, but I’m not sure I can take hearing the word “sardonically” one more time, And in every book he repeats the same descriptions of the characters and places. Getting a little tired of this.

Get Set for an Action Ride

The main requirement for reading The Rembrandt Affair, by Daniel Silva, is not to think too much. It is filled with always beautiful women, always smart and tough men, characters who are savagely beaten only to magically arise and walk away in tact, a villain with an operational support system which would be the envy of any government, government bureaucracies which make decisions quickly and act decisively, and electronic devices that work flawlessly the first time. No glitches permitted. Yet, The Rembrandt Affair is about as good as this international intrigue genre gets. It’s exciting, forward moving, engrossing, and thoroughly entertaining. How does Daniel Silva get the reader to suspend belief? First, he involves the reader in the personality of the protagonist, Gabriel Allon, the reluctant Israeli intelligence operative with multiple talents, a complex person with an admirable core set of values, whose personality has been developed over several books in this series. Add to this, a love affair or two, interesting interpersonal relations between members of various intelligence agencies, and the reader is quickly involved in Allon’s world of intrigue, rooting for him all the way. Another Silva attribute is meticulous and fascinating research so that the book sounds historically grounded and familiar to any reader of the daily newspaper. It has the feel of authenticity. Finally, the plot is so fast moving that the reader has no time nor need to ponder any of its details. Nor does Silva stop along the way to explain motivations, internal musings or conflict resolutions. Any need to understand is provided by the action itself. Any existential angst, which is sometimes hinted at, is tossed aside by the relentless pursuit of evil by the good guys. This is the third book in the Gabriel Allon series that I’ve read, and it is the best. Although the plot neatly resolves itself, the main characters are still very much alive at the end. I'll read the sequel.
