Not one of my favorites. Figured out the “twist” very early on. But still love JG

Predictable but still okay. would not read again but not a waste of time. Other books are much better imo

What a story!

This is one of Grisham’s best books. Even more of a page turner than usual.

Slow to the crux of the story

Story develops very slowly and then surprises at the end. Love Grisham, but to me this one is not one of his best.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Being a devout Grisham fan, I have high expectations. As usual, it took some ground work, but once the action and story started to unfold.....it was captivating! I cared about the characters and was intrigued and entertained as it all unfolded.

Greatly enjoyed the story

Both my wife and I greatly enjoyed this well-crafted story. I was especially pleased that all the loose ends were tied by the conclusion. While I have read/listened to most of Grisham's novels, this is the best of his stories since "The Testament." Glad to see this popular author back in full swing.

Better than the last reviewer liked it. I thought of it as the book version of the movie “ The Sting”

The book was two stories in one with the transition between stories not very smooth. Good guys are not always good and bad guys not always bad but usually with bad lurking nearby

The story was engrossing and the narration was some of the best I’ve heard, definitely worth a credit!!

probably first audible book listened to in one sitting. enjoyed every minute. enough twists to keep you interested

Decent

Maybe the liberties he took with fiction that he noted in the last few minutes lead to the fact this on was ok but not great. And damnit! You can only be a “former Marine” if you are dead or dishonorably discharged!

This is one of the best I have listened to in awhile.

I loved the fact that Grisham did such a good job of not giving a clue as to the outcome.

The feds are out to get him.
