A good action book made better with Brick

A quick action audiobook with a few twists. Brick does a great job with these type of characters. The plot was not overly complex and character development was thin, but for a 13 hour book this is par for the course in my experience. I will listen to more of Haig's books hoping to see a more complex plot with better twists. Not a bad use of a credit but there are better 5 star books out there.

Story over banter

If you like a brash, macho guy for the lead character in a first-person novel, then you will love this one. Also check out "Lion's Game" by Demille, because Sean Drummond is very similar to the main character in that book. For my tastes, the wit, banter, and attempts at humor wore a little thin. In any case, the good story line and the untouchable narration by Scott Brick made this a worthwhile read.

Pretty good but convoluted

The story was pretty good but events were convoluted. You've got to be in the mood for some gory stuff.

Outstanding espionage and suspense thriller!

In Book 5 in the Shawn Drummond series Drummond moves temporarily from US Army lawyer to the CIA to investigate a credible threat on the life of the US president. Drummond, working with another CIA agent, seeks to track down the man who has put a $500 million bounty of the president's life. There is lots of action and suspense. Narrator Scott Brick presents that action and suspense as only he can do.

A very compelling thriller

The President's Asassin is a rivetting thriller that is guaranteed to keep you guessing till the end. THe novel is humorous through the cynical smart alec character of Sean Drummond with a brilliant narration by Scott Brick. If you liked The Lion's Game (Unabridged) (also narrated by Scott Brick), you are sure to love this one!

Just excellent....

After reading several books by the author in the Sean Drummond series, this one seemed like it would be different. I was used to Drummond's voice by now, and changing the narrator was problematic. But, after all, it was Scott Brick on this one, so I couldn't go wrong.

As it turned out, Scott was the perfect narrator. The story was brilliant, the action kept flowing and narration was flawless.

Highly recommended.

Psychological thriller

I thought this was an excellent psychological thriller. At first, I thought it was much too smooth but then came the twists. I enjoyed the first character's personality, it made for a few chuckles here and there. I find that most books that Scott Brick narrates are good listens.

A good listen

I really enjoy litening to Scott Brick narrate. He does an excellent job conveying the emotions, attitudes, and personalities of the characters in the story.

This book was very entertaining. I should say that I solved the case about halfway through the book but I was still captivated by the story. I couldn't wait to get to the end to see if my conclusions were right!

I can't say this was the best I've heard or read but it was definately up there.

This book was slow to develop. I thought it drug on and took awhile to make a point. Not one of Brian’s best.
Narration was ok.

A queston for Haig readers

I have not previously read any of Haig's novels. But this looks intriguing so I believe I will try one. Do you Haig veterans suggest I start with his first? Often these author's stories build on themselves so that it's much better to take them in order. Please let me know if you believe that is the case here. Thank you. TMO PS - If you're wondering why I entered a rating it is simply because the system required it.
