I loved this book as a story and where the series is building. the narrating was terrible. The pronunciation is different from the previous books and everytime I thought it was livable she would bounce from loud to soft and high to low pitches.

Pronunciation is an issue for this series
Now that the initial narrator learned to pronounce slake (hint, rhymes with steak), we switch to one that cannot pronounce ley line (hint, rhymes with stay). Still a fun story, but when I want to stomp around and correct the narration it’s somewhat annoying. She got the high, annoying pitch of Jenks, though.

the reader for this book was terrible.
The Narrator for this book was terrible. She obviously has not familiarized herself with the material. it was infuriating to hear the multiple wrong pronunciations throughout the book.

Didn't like narration
Although I love the story, this narration of the audible by Gigi Bermingham is nerve racking. I completely miss Marguerite Gavin's narration skills. Gigi, to me, has a grating voice not to mention some of her pronunciations made me shutter! Some of her accents were good, but Jenks and Ceri sounded like nails on a chalk board. Thank goodness there is only this book narrated by her. I hope someone is having Marguerite redo it to go with the rest!

I'll never understand... SAVE YOUR MONEY..
I'll never understand why they change narrators after 5 books.. nothing against the new one, I'm sure she's wonderful at reading other stories.. but this.. this was awful. Apart from the sound being wonky, the voices she gave everyone was just wrong. Jenks voice made me wanna stick my head in an oven. Secondly, I think maybe in the future if you're going to change the person reading perhaps have them listen to one or two of the other books that were read, you know to get the words right and semi get an idea of how the characters have been portrayed. I've listened to the first 5 books in about a week and considering how expensive audio books are, I don't think I'm going to pursue the rest of the series through audible. Unless the were to redo them with Margaritte again. I'll go paperback. As stated, save your money.. unless you're just starting the audio from this one.. and in that case.. maybe still save it.. the pixie voices will grate your eyeballs.

amazing writing terrible reading.
Kim Harrison is an amazing author. Her books have great stories are fun to read. But the reading of this novel was terrible. All important words names places are mispronounced and after this being the 6th book of a series and hearing 5 of them pronounce correctly and in a certain way, this was heartbreaking. If things like misspelled or misspoken names and places and words that are simple to pronounce don't bother you then it's a great listen and I definitely recommend reading it.
