Publisher's summary

To save the lives of her friends, Rachel did the unthinkable: she willingly trafficked in forbidden demon magic. And now her sins are coming home to haunt her.

As Rachel searches for the truth behind a terrifying murder, an even greater menace threatens, for the demon Algaliarept will stop at nothing to claim her, and the discovery of a shocking family secret throws Rachel's entire life into question. If she is ever to live free, Rachel must first walk willingly into the demonic ever-after in search of long-lost ancient knowledge.

But when you dance with demons, you lay your soul on the line...and there are some lines that should never be crossed.

Great story, bad pronunciation

I’ve read the entire Hollows series and decided to pick up the audio books. I really like this particular narrator’s voice for Rachel and her inflections and feelings are more spot-on than the typical narrator, Marguerite Gavin. However, Gigi’s pronunciation of many of the words literally made me cringe. Ley line becoming lee line, Takata sounding like the tapping of a drum, Ta-Ka-Ta, instead of the flat Takata, etc.

Change of narration midway through the series

This book has a different reader than the previous ones I’ve listened to. I wouldn’t be as highly annoyed if it weren’t for the fact that a noticeable number of names and places were pronounced completely different than in the other books . And jinx is narrated in an annoyingly bad Pinocchio voice . Still will continue the series because I like it and have no spare time to sit and read right now.

Discrepancy distraction.

Loved the book, love this whole series!
Narrator was great, but a fair few of the names and accents were very different from the other Narrator, which was very distracting.

Voice is hard to hear

The voice is shrill and doesn’t go well with the book. The mispronounced words are atrocious.

Series is getting even better. Narrator was a no.

I loved this book as a story and where the series is building. the narrating was terrible. The pronunciation is different from the previous books and everytime I thought it was livable she would bounce from loud to soft and high to low pitches.

Pronunciation is an issue for this series

Now that the initial narrator learned to pronounce slake (hint, rhymes with steak), we switch to one that cannot pronounce ley line (hint, rhymes with stay). Still a fun story, but when I want to stomp around and correct the narration it’s somewhat annoying. She got the high, annoying pitch of Jenks, though.

Awesome series. could have done without the creepy music after the chapters. Didn't really like the narrator's voice overs

the reader for this book was terrible.

The Narrator for this book was terrible. She obviously has not familiarized herself with the material. it was infuriating to hear the multiple wrong pronunciations throughout the book.
