Book Six in the Project Series.
A Paris dealer in rare books discovers a lost manuscript of prophecies by Nostradamus and is murdered. The murder sends Nick Carter, Selena Connor and the Project team on a global hunt for the fabled Ark of the Covenant. The prophecies lead them to the Holy Land and deep into the secrets of the ancient Order of the Knights Templar.
The Ark is part of a plan to trigger war and a new Crusade in the Middle East. The men behind the plot will kill anyone who gets in the way, and Nick and Selena are in their crosshairs. At the same time he's trying to stay alive, Nick struggles with a bad case of PTSD. He'll lose Selena if he doesn't find a way to handle it. But how can he find time to sort out his personal life when he's caught up in one of the most dangerous missions of his career?

Librarian with chronic migraines which cuts into reading a LOT so I listen and it is awesome for me keeps me in the blogging/reviewing game.
In book six of the Project series Nick, Selena, and the team are back and they are searching for the Arc of the Covenant this time, using some lost quatrains of Nostradamus, and ancient secrets of the Templar Knights.
I really like how the characters in this series have very real problems and have to wrestle with how to solve them in the same ways the rest of us do, I realize it is fiction but it is nice to see even fictional veterans are not left unscathed.
I had the audio version of this book as I have grown very fond of the narrator Jack de Golia , I think he does the most wonderful job portraying all the characters. He has given each of them a voice and a life of their own. It is well worth a listen if you have never tried a audio and if you have this one will not disappoint.
It makes me happy to wake up everyday and look forward to listening. Many times I listen while doing artwork. I find it very relaxing.
The Nostradamus File was an exciting and fun listen. You meet Selena and Nick in Paris who are there to visit a friend, Jean-Paul Bertrand, a rare book collector whom they find dead in his shop with a note lying beside him with EX 25 written on it. This leaves them bewildered and leads them in search of answers. Then Selena receives a package at their hotel sent from Jean-Paul, mailed before he was murdered, containing some of Nostradamus' lost Quatrains written by his own hand. Selena, being a world class translator of old text and languages reminds Nick that you can't just 'read' Nostradamus because he deliberately wrote in code. They attempt to get the file to the Embassy in Paris and are immediately attacked but come out unscathed. They do get the file to their Director, Elizabeth but then other things are beginning to brew. At the same time, three world leaders are plotting to trigger a war in the middle east. This book was full of non-stop action and adventure from secret societies to ancient relics with some great twists.
I thought that Jack de Golia's performance was really good. I loved his New England dialect. His pace was perfect for me to keep up with and I look forward to his next book.
Overall I would recommend this book for a great summer listen or an anytime listen.
